Irie, Great responses from all!!! It certainly has a long interestingly controversial history... The plantation owner described having the drying barn stacked high of sacks of beans!!! I know the large orchard of them was cut down about 15yrs ago..... Anyone know if they grow from cuttings??? My camera busted, again, atm, but I'll see what snapshots I can get?? Respect, Z

Irie, Just wondering if anyone has any experience growing or using tonka beans??? I was just talking to a local plantation owner that told me that it used to be grown here.... Gonna have to find me a tree! I'm sure I can still find one! Respect, Z

Irie, Well I did mine with verm..... I did clip the edge of the seed before soak.... I would leave the lid off for a couple of days & only slightly dampen verm... Respect, Z

Irie, As FancyPants said....Caapi leaves. I find they potent a brew & enhances the other ingredients. But I use so many different herbs in my teas it would be hard to list.... I mostly just wander around the garden & feel what is right for the tea, that is needed for the time.. Recently been using sida cordifolia & P.alba flowers as a tea for coughs.... The kids seem to enjoy it but they're bouncing off the walls!!! Respect, Z

Irie, I germ 80% of my seeds in a plastic sandwich tub, usually surface sown on a bed of damp vermiculite. Seeds are usually soaked for 5-48hrs in fresh water.... Respect, Z

Irie, As far as I'm aware Cascabel (Peruvian name) & Caupuri (Brazilian name) are synonymous. I have several vine from seeds of cascabel, from a brazilian source.... Quite distinctive due to the round enlarged nodes... Not had a chance to compare strength. Respect, Z
