Ive seen Duboisia growing along creeks and rivers on the central coast area. It seems to naturally grow where moisture is and have also noticed they seem relatively shaded by larger trees. Cultivation is always different, so im interested to hear how you go.

Cockroaches have also devoured into my cactii. They have taken big chunks out of all of my 2yr Lophs, and 2yr T. werdermannius (sp?) living inside. Given that my other larger/older cactii outside are okay, my solution was to put a fly screen cage around the tiny cactii . The Lophs seem to have shown promise of regrowth but their form will be lost.

Yerba Mate (Ilex paraguariensis) Growing And Harvesting
Plantsoma replied to SaBReT00tH's topic in Ethnobotany
I bought some fresh green unroasted yerba mate from a vendor recently. They also sold roasted varieties as well, but the vendor told me the fresh green had kept more of the vitamins/health benefits than the roasted varieties. So i guess roasting and aging/curing isnt nescessary for anything other than taste. Im no tea fan at all, but i find the green mate to taste very palettable. Cant help with cultivation though sorry. -

D. myoporoides that i have seen growing in the wild are usually in the damp areas and along the sides of creek beds. The ones i have seen have been small to medium sized shrubs. I would agree with Darcy's advice, ive seen it survive in variable conditions and it seems pretty hardy. :D

Has anyone else tried using white oil on cactii? I sprayed a small amount on some scale affected T. scop's and it has virtually turned them to mush in a few days  There is a black tar like sap seeping from the cactii skin and the skin has discoloured to the point of being very soft and mush-like and i believe they will rot away. Does anyone know what has happened here ? White oil seems detrimental to cactii. I'll NEVER use white oil again on cactii.

I fermented some sceletium and after a week or so a small amount of mould was noticed growing on the air exposed parts (on top of the liquid) . This went away after a few days and has been fermenting for 3 weeks so far. Is it safe to smoke/sniff this product after mould has grown in it, even though the mould has dissapeared now? My sceletium plants grow profusely all year round and im constantly cutting them back. Thanks all.

Its on tonight: Cutting Edge The World According to Bush - Part 1 8.30pm - 9.30pm | SBS Current Affairs (France/English, French) This two-part series, featuring interviews with US officials, CIA operatives, US journalists and prominent figures of the post-September 11 political landscape, creates a disturbing portrait of President George W Bush. According to the documentary, after nine months in power and still with no defined political programme, George W Bush found in September 11 the best pretext for declaring war on Iraq and terrorism and for taking on the mission of a lifetime. Himself a radical reborn Christian, a neo-conservative and supportive of Zionist policy, Bush and his operation would definitely serve Israel and settle the USA as controller in the Arab Middle East. Yet to justify his move and get the American people's approval, the Bush government had to implicate - and discredit - United Nations members, political experts, journalists and diplomats alike all around the western world. *CC* 60 mins

I saw a thorn-less variety of Blackberry at a Blackheath nursery, which is a great idea if youve ever had experience removing out-of-contol blackberry bushes. (OUCH) There are also native Rubus sp. which are nice tasting when very ripe, tasteless if not. :D

Fark! Endangered in VIC, wow, i didnt know that! Ive got about 50 tubes, 9mnths old grown from seed ordered from a Australian seed supplier. Is it the same species as the NSW ones? Im not sure where the seeds i got originate, presumeably mixed to increase diversity. Although, im a firm believer in provinance. -

Cubase is the industry standard for creating/recording music. Expensive, but if ur into P2P you should be able to find it much cheaper The biggest issue will be the capabilities of your PC. Also if you are recording electronic, the good VSTi midi instrument plugins are hard to come by. A friend of mine creates very professional sounding tunes with 'Making Waves', a very simple to use program and free too i think, (do a search 4 it, i think its only a 1-3meg download).
