Very, very nice Osprey. Thank you for sharing

That massive caes would be over 20 years from seed, even in ideal conditions... IMO

Looking good so far watertrade, look forward to seeing your final results!

Just got the sand from the local nursery mate, its in with all the ferts and stuff. They should be able to get it in for you, if your local one doesn't stock
-
Yeah dude, but think about the time consumed in making something this large.. It says its double sided too with another colour I think..

Hi mate, Try giving 100% propagation sand a go on the top later. Just sit the cut on top and don't water until you notice some roots. Worked for me I did give it a bit of a water every couple of weeks, but not a soaking. Mine took quite a while to root, but she's fine once sending them out. KlUe

Mate, I'm no expert with Eileen, but I got a 10cm or so cutting about a month back and she's just rooted even after the cold has started. If you keep in some good sun during the day, should be right. KlUe

Would be interested in your outcome too, Jack KlUe

Dude, check out my macro pics thread (posted week or so ago) - there is a pic of a rooted pach tip cut from which I halved at bout 15cm. Attached a pic of the bottom half that I grafted a loph on to last week. But - I'd wait until growing season again though, and do it then. Mine rooted literally within the week after callousing and the bottom rooted half pupped twice within a couple weeks too. They're both putting on fine growth KlUe

What's the average time for Cacti seeds to germinate?
KlUe replied to Aya's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Shroomy is right - up to around 2 weeks. If it takes longer than that, there is most likely something up. As long as the seeds aren't too old and you've got them in that warm temp with relatively high humidity, you should see no issues. -

Will depend where they are located. Have you got them outside or inside? Sunlight, fluoros? -
As promised got couple new pics of this guy. Was almost scary standing underneath her.. lol Peace KlUe

Haha Its just a standard T.pach, from what I remember was from Herbalistics. The two plants were originally the same, cut in half. Cheers KlUe

Hey all, I've got some lophs under fluoros in my grow box and noticed a couple of them have become quite soft to touch. Thinking they needed a good watering, I did so yesterday evening.. This morning they were a little better, but come tonight they're just as soft again. Could it be because it is getting too hot in there? I'd say temps average 30-35 degrees during 'daytime'. Any suggestions? Cheers, KlUe EDIT: Tonight I turned off the warm white bulb to reduce temperature in there.
-
Thanks Tonic. To be honest I've not been up to date with watering schedules, I'll be more careful now. Also as I mentioned I've turned off the warm white fluoro - hopefully temps will stabilize a bit lower.

Hi hebrew, i'll get a shot next Sunday.. its my weekend job. Was on my phone too so apologies for the dodgy quality --- I'm quite sure its not an active however, but i'm no cacti pro KlUe

Sweet as dude.

First specimen looks like some sort of rot mate.. Usually they brown to the same colour under or around the roots, but shrivelling up like that is no good.. I doubt you'll be able to resurrect it, no harm in trying though. edited typos
-
Next time i'll resize them, sorry - but I did say image heavy in the topic thread for people on dial up etc. Just get a much better quality pic when they're bigger sizes. Cheers
-
Yeah Opera not bad, i've never used it properly though. Sorry, didn't explain properly - its not auto size, its auto settings for shutter time etc. So images will be same resolution no matter what. Peace KlUe

Hi guys, was on an auto function with super macro mode with my Canon S2IS - Auto is better for quick snaps Also, Mozilla firefox auto-fits pics that are too big to your screen - try downloading - its free and WAY better than IE 6. Cheers all KlUe
