    Noob's cacti

I tried taking photos today but they all turned out shithouse. I'll have some free time tomorrow though so I'll get you a proper stacked macro of it in all the detail I can muster

All sold! Cactus packs for sale...

Goddamn it, now I really regret spending the last of my money on a silly little CSD cut... Oh well, I'm sure whomever is lucky enough to get those killer genetics that have been treated so well will cherish them

    Noob's cacti

Now that you mention it I've only ever seen pictures of them with flowers in the middle. I know that I have less than an untrained eye but it really didn't look the same as the pups the loph has been putting out at all especially in this picture and more than that it's retreating while the pups keep on growing. I don't doubt you're right about lophs flowering from the centre but could it have been an error that it's now trying to self correct?

    Noob's cacti

I've been keeping an eye on this loph that was about to flower and it went all lol nope and has started sucking the flower back inside of itself over the last 36 hours or so. Is this a common thing or is it just fucking with me? Either way sorry @Matt1208 looks like I won't be able to share it's pollen Since I was out in the garden taking pics I figured I'd try to get a picture of what I thought was a double headed loph sprout. It's a bit on the potato side but it looks like I was right about it

Advice for a Short Visit DownUnder?

If you know where you're staying you could always legally order some cuts of Australian cacti off ebay. I'm not saying you should do so with the intention of tripping over and having them accidentally land in a saucepan as that would be illegal but accidents happen ya know You might also be able to put them in your suitcase or ship them back home depending on how much you're willing to suffer with border security and outrageous postage prices but seeds will absolutely not be a problem whatsoever. You can order tons of seeds off ebay, facebook groups and a few dedicated sites like Shaman Australis or trichocereus.com.au and as long as they're clearly labeled and you declare them they'll be allowed out of the country.

Just out of curiosity, would you rather?

I see your point of view and understand that a fool can seemingly die happier than a genius in most cases, but is a fool's happiness legitimate? They may feel as though it is but if they've spent their life avoiding learning of sadness their apparently joyful existence pails in comparison to someone who's had a miserable life yet chooses to look on the bright side of things due to the perspective they've attained through experience. Take something as basic as hunger for example. Someone who avoids the sensation due to the negative feeling it gives the body will take food for granted and barely taste it as they stuff their mouths day in and day out but someone who's gone without food for a few days will almost cry tears of joy as they bite into something as basic as an apple and fully experience the taste, the texture and the cessation of their suffering. So who's really happier? The glutton who avoids the negative feeling and is thus happy in their own mind or the person who suffered through a prolonged period of hunger and gained some perspective?

    eBay/Gumtree finds

Although I have vastly underestimated the stupidity of mankind in the past I refuse to believe anyone is actually that stupid. It reeks of a trap to catch people breaking drug laws, federal mail laws, etc. to spook them into ratting out everyone they know so much as jaywalked.

A life lived in ignorance may feel happy but it's a living death and it's only with perspective that comes from knowing both bad and good can you truly find peace and happiness. Butters sums it up pretty well. So yeah there's no question in my mind, I'll always pick a sad truth over ignoring reality because as balance exists in every equation so too is there a positive to be found which you can choose to focus on.

    Noob's cacti

Thanks mate. I can't find the pictures at all now. I think I broke the site and my post count is still inflated as lol Thanks for the kind words and you're not wrong, I've literally spent everything I've had on cacti and I've also had to completely give up eating out, drinking booze, having an indoor grow to lower my power bill, etc. Growing cacti has definitely been a positive influence like that but I haven't lost my shit with it to the point of starving just yet. I could stand to lose some weight though

    Noob's cacti

Thanks mate, I felt like a right arse hole for accidentally shitting the gallery up like that and tried deleting the pics but couldn't find the option to do so. I now feel much better about it edit: Just noticed my post count went up by 450 for it though. Is there a way to undo that as it feels like a huge lie?
