Seems a shame! I'll graft them onto something else
  3. Not quite enough information here, post some pics. Like Freakosystem said; There could be existing literature and an extensive use

    Araucaria bidwillii

This sort of goes into the genus a little bit; also a great guy to listen to if you haven't already. Enjoy
  8. Hey all! I've gotten involved with a youth development program in my area. The program is centred around bring young people outside to collaborate on a community garden. Its going great and really serving its purpose. With drought, increasing temperatures and water restrictions (not to mention habitat loss etc) i think its far more beneficial to be planting natives. If anyone has ANY native seeds lying around i'd love to take them off your hands and could shout a little $$$ your way. Thanks so much everyone, your efforts would definitely be going to a good cause. Take it easy

Native seeds for education/ youth development.

Hey! That would be great thanks so much. Sydney area and the soil is comparable to local sandy soil. We did an analysis i'll find the results

Native seeds for education/ youth development.

I imagine a lot of these will be kept in large pots for a while if local to the area it wouldn't be a problem getting in touch with the local council and getting them out into the wild.

    Oyster's on straw

Hey all! Its been 24 hours since i added colonised grain spawn to the pasteurised substrate. It seems like the mycelium is having a hard time migrating to the straw (hay?) Any idea what's going on? Edit: dark spots are seeds from the grain (not sure what grain was used possibly bird seed)

    phyllodium pulchellum seeds :)

After watching Julian Palmer's amazing new video on youtube and receiving his emails i have become very interested in phyllodium pulchellum or desmodium gangeticum. They sound like incredible plant medicines I was wondering if anyone knows anyone who sells seeds or plants of this medicine, If so please PM me Julian Palmer: Entheographical Explorations : Global Research on the most viable 5-MeO-DMT containing plants https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD1PwrdjhBE

    Oyster contamination :(

Hey all! Unfortunately my first shot at cloning my oyster spawn has failed It seems something must have gotten in going from jar to jar. The bag of straw substrate is going strong and my jars of King stropharia look healthy and vigorous! For some reason the grain never took off like the KS is Any tips would be greatly appreciated Cheers guys!

    Oyster contamination :(

Comparing the pics to yeast contamination and maybe some kind of cobweb mould?

    Oyster contamination :(

Thanks so much! I definitely wont let it discourage me, i've reviewed my methods and will do whatever it takes on my next attempt. I wasn't too concerned with the speed of growth, definitely found the difference interesting though. Not too sure why i keep the foil on out of the PC! Guess it's handy to label them :D (The jars have polyfil filters too) For the KS, i have straw mulch on compost in the back of the garden. Once i had enough spawn going i plan on transferring to that and let them pop up in their own time I now have a colonised bag of straw which the oysters should be popping out of any day now! I'm more than happy to send you some KS spawn I'm sure i can spare a bit I have a successful jar in the fridge i got from a friend.

    Araucaria bidwillii

I would love to get my hands on some seeds again! I currently have a rhizome in a pot... still yet to see any growth but it looks healthy? Definitely one of my favourite plants! There's one local to me with warnings all over it when its seed is dropping! Heres a link to the abstract (paper behind paywall): https://researchoutput.csu.edu.au/en/publications/substantial-resource-reallocation-during-germination-of-araucaria

    Does street lighting affect flowering.

I asked a similar question about moonlight effecting plant growth (last year?) I wonder if street lights would affect mushroom fruiting too...
