Thanks for the input. I used to have mountains of old tires in the good ol' drifting days. I could have put them to good use! I think ill skip the tires, and try the wire mesh. Something about semi solid hydrocarbons and food crops together just dont seem right to me. No doubt it works, just not sure how healthy the result would be. Heya Self, The WW i witnessed was here straight after the winnings so the breeding wouldnt have been far from the original. Remember unless its a clone its always going to vary a bit. Maybe the one i witnessed was more of an Indy dom. Funny enough, Super Skunk was as Gerbil pointed out an affy X with skunk #1, which itself was a nice X of Colombian, mexican(Acapulco Gold), Thai and Afghani. Think the original was a 3 way not 4 but im not sure. Superior genetic and top breeding made the original Skunk#1 superb. Re Kafiristanica: The only info i have at hand is the following distribution scan from "HASHISH!" by Clarke. I havent seem much (nor have i looked) recently re this new subtyping. The Distribution map uses C.Indica Var Kafiristanica instead of C.Sativa Kafiristanica which i cant explain. Unfortunatley it doesnt say much re cannibinoid profiles but i spose i could match up hash sample data collected from those areas and it may give some idea as to the differences. Maybe. This would be skewed tho due to storage and maturation times which arnt standardized. Heres a few to play with, again from "hashish!" by Clarke: Cannabinoid contents of hashish from major producers. Indian in particular "Kerala" origin herb is perhaps the finest smoking ganja, they have been breeding in Kerala for supreme "smoking ganja" for what could be hundreds of years if not many more. Whereas most indicas were "hash only" cultivars or not even used previously to the "hippy tourism boom" in those areas of middle east. Indica's wont flower well too far north either, as bud mold will set in easily with the density of the flowers, Sativa's are the only prime candidates really. Maybe Napalese, Colombian and South American are slight possibilites that cant be overlooked either, but later in the timeline. If we only knew of some of the first importers from back then.....

It may well have, but cannabis wasnt/isnt a native plant, it must have come from somewhere. Most indications point to early imports from Indian hemp/drug pheno's or SE Asian drug/firbe/feed pheno's. I think cannabis seed was imported from SE A or India before it grew wildly in the Hunter. I think any non-hollow (fiberous stemed) hemp/sativa would have been far more popular as inital hemp pheno's than the hollow (indica) drug cultivars which may have shown up in the early 80's late late 70's. White widow is a Brazilian X Indian (Kerala) as far as i am aware of. It (WW) is no where near as stativa dominated as typical thai/SE asian varieties which made up the almost all of the late 60's-70's breeding stock up that way. I would bet that MM was an original highland Thai/Loatian variety originally, it could have well started from an imported thai stick itself. I have spent many years asking breeders if they know of any MM still left, but alas they dont think so..... maybe in a hidden valley up there there still may be rouge sproutings, but i think it lost out to the dutch genetics. This is why WE MUST preserve landrace varieties!! Bd

This would make perfect sense, as sativas or early harvested indica hybrids(rarely pure indica nowdays unless you lucky) for that matter cause (for me) a dysphoric and high anxiety "high". I know CBD smoothes out the ride, that has been proven time and time again, but this kappa-opioid agonist action of THC can cause anxiety and uneasyness itself. I have never linked the two as seperate actions from the same compound. So as CBD acts upon the uptake of THC (slows it), one would think the effect of kappa agonist action would be deminished with high CBD samples. Is this action it widely know? It fits in perfectly with my need to specify the variety/heratage of cannabis when things go wrong. Everyone in medicine just thinks weed is weed, i wish it was that simple. TLC of selected varieties, could help people tremendously. Both to enjoy the herb and prevent unnessecary damage/ill effects. Could we simply be seeing the emergence of low THC tolerant people due to the 'rush' of indoor growing? Plants may grow quicker indoors, but THC production/degradation to CBD's isnt really hastened at all, that takes time, time producers cant or dont want to wait for. Indoor sativa/hybrids + early harvest due to illegal status + no cure time = high THC : low or almost non existant CBD = higher rates of dysphoria and anxiety? Im wondering if it could be a cause of combining cannabis with opiates or perscription opate like drugs? I have has a similar effect/reaction to use of cannabis and endone, specificaly after surgery using general anethesia. I assumed the cannabis would reduce the nausea associated with the anethesia (the anti-nausea wore off way to quickly)but i think it caused the problem to worsen. From then on, i would feel terible nauses whenever the endone or panadine forte was consumed. Reaction was so bad i ended up with anxiety attacks from the forte alone, without the cannabis. Im also wondering why they state in the 'Adelaide hills', thats rather precise isnt it? could this be linked to a certain batch or variety or cannabis found/grown in the region, perhaps? Or use of a specific chemical/fert? I found that the shower was needed moreso to circuit break the anxiety, 'rough' feelings and physical discomfort rather than a cure for the problem.. Could this be an imbalance of neuro transmitters causing the effects, ie dopamine overload? If doctors were to listen to cannabis consumers, rather than dismiss everything they say, im sure we would know much more about potential interactions and effects of specific or non-specific cannabis products. Its been my experience that they simply dont listen to you, or effects/side effects presented of poly-pharmacy use regarding cannabis. GP's have little idea about the differences in the two main cannabis types too, they both effect people very differently and should be noted.

Also seems a few people would like cuts for nothing. I have had a few people ask for M&D cuts, ive taken them and prepped them, only to have the askers re-neg on the sale. They only want to trade, after the price is given.. its happened a few times now. Im happy to trade if i had the space but im outa room and am not taking new cuts, Im trying to reduce my stock and trying to share around the M&D at a reasonable price. Ive offered them for $30/30cm tip cut, but that seems to much in some peoples eyes. Geez, i would have been happy to pay $50 back years ago in my furious collecting years. Having managed a nursery some years ago, and having brought heaps of my inital collection from bunnings all those years ago at their exhorborent prices, i consider $30 a foot a steal for a 'known' cut.

Wont work too well for different species on the same substrate. Competition will be the biggest problem. Can and will work for like/like species.. but it will form intermediate hybrids. On a small scale this will work. Providing the same species is used for both differing strains, in nutrient rich solution, its the basics of forming hybrids. Now you cant really control whats going to happen unless you have a powerfull microscope and single out spores, so our hybrids will be totally random. There will be random germination of the spores in nutrient solution(if you decide thats what your after). Depending on what type of similar germinating spore they lie/swim next to wil determine the final outcome. Spores germinate, the rootlets search for there asexual partners, the fusion of the rootlets takes place, then forming mycelium. If you happen to use the same species, and that germination and entanglement happens to differing genetic partners, a simple or many simple hybrid will form. I gather this is the basics of mycology morphology in a jar. Selection is made from the final characteristics of the fruiting body, then cloned to propagate your new selection. SO to answer your question, mixing like spores can/will create hybrids if done in a nutrient rich solution(or maybe in situ) but mixing species wont do much except cause competion problems. One is most likely to overrun the other, or be grouped/ segregated like UG said. Hope that helps.

Heya. Ive just started to work with this plant in the last few years. It is an interesting herb, one that seems to draw one closer and closer when you experiment with and grow it. Heres a pic of a 2 year old patch, around 4-5 plants making up this group. And a close-up The plant does have its place as a mild relaxant, but is not a contributer to the effects of that famous smoking blend at such low doses(assuming that it is actually in the blend?). Just for height/growth comparison, the tree climber macro just as it started to enter the branches.... You can see two or three arms (to the left and top behind) starting to lean into the branches. Crazy growth for only three years as you can see in micro's pic. I imagine as the arms were growing thru the Eucy they eventually got too long, the had no support, high winds(maybe) snapped them (as you can see at the top of one of the arms) and fell. Now it is turning around and headin back toward the sky. I recon BD.

Nice pics Micro That Bridge is what i would consider var "Bruce", Pretty sure its the same plant, it has put on some nice growth since. Edit, Just checked the forums and couldnt find it, so here tis again, 2005 How big/tall is she now? (if it is the same plant) That "SA Sausage/Huntington" macro, ive seen multiple clumps as large as 20m+ wide thru that country. Incredibly sprawling plant. Would have been planted out that way quite some time ago. Neat growth paterns. Cool pics. BD
