vadub Posted November 15, 2012 My clones humble origins...note the dried flower pods Rooted, after a couple of weeks outside... Starting to reach up... Not very long after putting it into a pot about 20" across Most recent shot of it flowering for the first time in its warm greenhouse home Close ups! More to come once these blossoms start opening up. I believe I read these are self fertile so it looks like I'm going to have a surplus of seed. The presence of non-placebo type constituents are abound Think this plant has a lot of potential especially working with fresh material and making sure mislabeled species are kept out of the fray.

vadub Posted November 18, 2012 (edited) Finally! I guess if there is any confusion on what the proper 'active' Calea ternifolia syn. zacatechichi looks like here it is.. Edited November 18, 2012 by vadub
Safez Posted November 18, 2012 Very nice mate! Mine has been to flower once at about that size then slowed it's growth way down over winter; now we're heading into summer she's growing like crazy. I'd be happy to trade some cuttings for any s.prints or plants. You can see her there in the foreground between the Guarantica and the Coleus
vadub Posted November 18, 2012 Nice plant! Seems to have the same growth structure as mine. They like to put out those lateral branches at the bottom, wonder if they will root adventitiously. Where did you source yours from? Do the leaves taste mentholy bitter?
Safez Posted November 21, 2012 Sourced mine from SAB. The leaves are so unbearably bitter. I wouldnt say menthol bitter, more sharp nauseatingly bitter. Those branches at the bottom are interesting... I don't know about rooting though, would be amazing if they did!
PhoenixSon Posted November 21, 2012 just air layer them (chuck the lower branches under the ground) and youll have new plant(s) in a month or two... lazy growers way but i always get 100% success rate, works for a fair few plants.
Safez Posted December 5, 2012 So just to confirm, detach the lower branches and place them under the ground? or leave them attached?
bogfrog Posted December 6, 2012 Leave the branch attatched and after a while it should develop its own root system and can be cut off. Ta daa! New plant. Beautiful calea btw.
