sethomopod Posted July 12, 2009 Beautiful! Can you please tell us the names of the specimens in the bottom two pics? I've never seen anything like that before! They look like they should be living about 2kms deep in the ocean! Fantastic! And was the offer for fresh Jourdania seed real? Trade perhaps?
KanJe Posted July 12, 2009 Second last one is a Pelecyphora aselliformis v. monstrose. Last is a Cintia knizei v. variegate. Zelly is the Cintia monstrose as well or just like that cuz it's grafted? Did you get any of these plants from the wild? Just so you know, I would do unimaginable things just to see the last two plants in person let alone have them in my collection. I'm off now to get some tissues.
zelly Posted July 12, 2009 This is what the cintia looked like when I first acquired it, a main head & 3 offsets....the offset on the bottom left was weak & spindly. None of my cacti was collected from the wild. Klongs aren't considered in the wild are they? As they matured, more offsets occurred, & you can see new heads popping out. Currently there are 17 heads of varying sizes. Here is a non-variegated cintia. It has tiny yellow flowers when in bloom. I'll probably offer the fresh Jourd seeds in the plant & seed exchange forum. And here's a sneak preview of even more eye candy p0rn, a variegated T. grandiflorus
