As in Copelandias? Are they sterile? Ive never seen those with white/pale gills. They usually go black pretty early.

my knowledge of shrooms is limited.

my books say copelandias have been moved into the group of panaeolus.

anyway this is a local strain (inland of rockhampton) which just grew out of the manure deposited in my friends garden, guess that makes them non sterile.

i will watch out for gill color...

maybe they were white because they were very young specimens, anyhow they darkend fast after being picked.

if people are interrested than i will try to produce "as sterile as posssible" prints...

pans rock for growing - if someone was tempted to do the forbidden... Not I ofcourse...

They seem to have a lower moisture content and go down easier than meaty cubensis. And ofcourse the potency rocks. They actually dry to the consistency of human hair - weird but still mildly active.

Have found subs in Fitzroy & Geelong. Both areas well watered so had advantage but I think the rain in Melb the last couple of days should really help the season kick off. Remember kids be good to the patches you harvest.

I went to a few patches yesterday, and there were heaps of mature ones, but they had dried out and then gotten wet the previous night and had a lot of gnat larvae and even mature gnats in them.

Hey all. After a big hunt today, found these, and was wondering if anyone knew what they were? Lots of blueing on the stems, also on some heads.

Under post reply, and file attachments, goto browse and then add attachment.

Aside from the other shrooms discovered yesterday, we found a whole heap of what look like p.eucalypta at some good local spots.

Taking spore prints :)

If you want it full size in the post rather than a thumbnail, upload the image somewhere (the gallery here's the best, cause it'll be there 'forever'), and then click on the insert image button at the top of the post.
