'Guantanamo conditions'

In making the bail application, Mr Boulten detailed what he said are the conditions in which his clients are being held.

Mr Boulten told the court that Mulahalilovic was dressed in orange overalls because the Correctives Services Department wanted to emulate the Guantanamo Bay detention centre.

Mr Boulten told the court his client was being kept in solitary confinement in a maximum security prison, that he was in his cell for more than 20 hours a day and was allowed out for one hour to exercise.

He said that his client's hands and legs were being shackled.

Anything Mulahalilovic said was being recorded and he has not been allowed to make contact with his family.
