gerbil
I may have missed it, but i assume polyfill be interchangable with the autoclave tape in the liquid innoculum baby jars? or is it just adding another contam factor in? ie. needle in heavy contact with polyfill as opposed to slightly touching the baby food hole. Rev
u can do waht u likepersonally i have found the tape to be better at keeping out contamsbut i like polyfill for jarsin the jars i only add a small amunt of liquid to airspace because that air sustains the culture for the growth periodits not a continuous or even a long period so no exchange is neededwhere exchange is required polyfill or tyvek is bettersome suggest adding dilute peroxide to lengthen growth periods but ive found it knocks teh myc too hard and besides in this method i only like to open the seal twiceonce to inoculateonce to harvestthen clean it out and start againadding peroxide adds a third opportunity for contam to get in
AndyAmine.
What do you think about using blobs of silicon as self sealing/healing injection points Rev.My concern is that most of the packages of silicon sealant say that its toxic and should be kept away from foodstuffs.I would assume the aquarium grade is the best choice?
