Psilocin and Psilocybin

Recommended Posts

Is Psilocin and Psilocybin found in the stalk as well or is it just in the tops of the shrooms?

(Veronica, I'll have to get you to edit the first line of your initial post please)

Every part except the spores.

Try munching a hand full of soil from near a psilocybe next time, try and remove the wormies first though wink.gif

Apparently cultivating mycelium is a much more efficient way of producing psilocin & psilocybin (of course, in the near future when such things are legal to do here).

i dunno about the whole mass mycelial cultivation for production of psilocin...if it's liquid innoculum (a la Gottlieb?) it's hard to spot contaminants.. i don't think the psilocin content really compares to say pre-sporulating specimens from the second flush.

Guest auto302823

i can vouch for the efficiency of mycelial production rather than the fruiting of mature carpophores which requires an order of magnitude more procedure and dedication

if a mushroom flavoured cranberry-shake is your thing of course

however there is also the issue of repeatability and sustainability by not going full cycle

Alkaloid content is variable between fruits but the same in the cap or stem of the fruit.

Mycelia reaches its peak of alkaloid production just before and during the development of primordia.
