Daniel and I are doing a whirlwind tour of Victoria and would love to catch up with people at this event. We're only there for the saturday afternoon, so the conference is the best time to catch us.

and my presentation topic isn't certain yet. There are a few things I'd like to talk about and haven't quite decided (or prepared) yet wink.gif

Sadly Ben will not be there with me to speek about the Doco.

I will be bringing too cameras hopefully, one to film the speakers as a record and one to do any interviews that people would like about Ethno and/or mushrooms experiences etc why they are in town.

Regards

Jonathan

hmmm maybe I will try to make it down there for that...

So how is it that you managed to get listed as a 'special' guest Torsten when all the others are just regular speakers wink.gif heheh

so I guess htey don't want anyone to give a talk on the chemistry/pharmacology of anything then! pfft! typical - leave out the useful stuff...

nabraxas: a questions section?? what do you mean? that I should ask questions about that stuff?

I meant that I would have liked/have been happy to give a talk about chemistry/pharmacology if I had been asked. But I guess no-one wanted that type of thing.

I wonder why? too scientific? frown.gif

im keen, its just draging someone with me.

but i think she'll give in wink.gif

we'll leave friday about miday, hopefully a little earlier.and head off sunday morning.

a bit of a misson i know, but theres not much eb stuff happening here and i really like catching up with plant freaks.

does anyone thats going have a vacant patch of lawn we could pitch on.

i dont have a problem with camping grounds etc,but if we're driving all that way,id like to spend as much time with ethnoheads as possible smile.gif

hope to see a few of you there!

I think the 'special guest' thing has something to do with distance travelled wink.gif

I am sure if eccles went he would be a special guest too.

Eccles, you should go! and yes, I am sure they would love you to speak. The topic is not too scientific, it's just there aren't any chemists down there wink.gif

Ringwood is east of melbourne. Easily reachable by train.

Waterdragon, would love to see you there!!

eccles- forgive my lack ov knowledge, i didn't know you wanted to pass on info( which i'm sure we'd all be interested in, as long as it wasn't too technical- i like chemistry). however, if you did have a question about "that stuff", i don't see why it would be wrong to ask a question. it is an ethno conference. no harm in asking?

I think we are arranging the order of the speakers on the day. I suspect that it would be hard to work out exact times for speakers because they are followed by a question and answer section which will very from topic to topic.

"Folks,

Just a quick reminder, the Mini EthnoBotany Victoria is happening THIS

SATURDAY, from 1pm to 5pm, at the Ringwood Public Library, ~150 metres

northwest of the Ringwood train station.

Talks start at 1pm sharp. Be late & you miss it.

Bring snacks and drinks if you can, to share.

Pay $2 except unemployed/student with a card.

Sorry, no one under 18, bring ID if you look young.

Exhibitors/sellers: come early to set up.

Speakers: Talk about 15-20 mins, then Q&A.

Bring friends.

Does anyone know a barrister/solicitor/law student who'd like to talk,

or at least observe?

Does anyone know the folks in Ferntree Gully area (?) who have an

ethnobotany website and/or nursery? Could you pass this email/invite

on to him/her/them?"

no updates as far as I know.

This is really quite a fluid sorta event. Plenty of knowledgable people, so it doesn't matter who speaks when.

Would it be a type of event were we can bring some plant material (seed, cuttings, potted plants, etc.) along for trading?

Maybe I'll bring some fresh sceletium cuttings if people are interested.

Will there be any books available as well to purchase?

Or notes from the lectures?
