Cube-ish look alike .....

Jungle John

Question

Hi Folks , I noticed these for the first time last year , and now this year for the first time ..... They appeared in foraging fields I've coming to for ten years now . Note the annulus , kind of frilly , gill spacing close to crowded . The gills are silvery grey , and on a sunny blue sky day , they appear bluish . Spore print , black . No blueing when bruised , but ..... picks up blueing when regular cubes are resting on them.....  Anyone know what they are ?4A7A1A74-7473-4D56-A41F-F4EA073F6BE0.heic9CCA7F31-7D4F-4D37-8159-4124E2F369FC.heic994A94D8-CD43-42D9-B992-1DC29F2666E1.heic

I've seen these aswell and generally avoid anything with a bulbous base like that. have you tried inaturalist for an ID?

Hi Rottenjonny ! Do have a good connection to a naturalist ID er..... I'm curious about these , I've been foraging in these paddocks for years now , and only noticed these last year for the first time . I want to find out if they are nasty....
