Amulte Posted November 8, 2005 just have to say, my old man owns a gas operated bar fridge. hook it up to a small LPG gas tank (like a bar b size) and it will last for about 3 weeks. cold as a fridge kinda.cold enough to keep shit fresh last time i used it. hes decided to donate it to us to use for the week. AndyAmine. Posted December 7, 2005 Hello everyone. Were almost there, only 5 weeks to go until the big trip so Rev and I are off this week to check out some camping sites and other places of intrest. If anyone has a suggestion or something they think we should have a look at then please do so ASAP via a PM to Andyamine and we will endeavor to do so. This brings me to another point that's had me concerned for the last week or so. With the cost of petrol and the long distances that have to be traveled this scouting trip will cost in the range of $50-$60+ and many hours (6-10hrs+) of driving. Rev and I are happy to do this but I think its only fair that some of the cost should be shared by those that are coming so anyone feeling generous enough to donate towards the cause please PM me for postal details. I'm also having a scrummage now to see if I can find something to put up for auction. Thanks for reading everyone and I'm really looking forward to meeting you all! Amulte Posted December 15, 2005 (edited) about this mini gas operated fridge. unless plans have changed im gettin picked up in sydney. i live in newcastle and this fidge is too heavy to lug round on a train so im having doubts as to weather we can accually get it, yowie told me once we have the room for it. any one got any suggests? i know its not nessary but some think it to be a good idea. but unless i head down to sydney somtime in a car, with the fridge and drop into storage and leave it there till camping. but i dont think that will be happening, well see, but anyone got any ideas? AndyAmine. Posted December 17, 2005 AFAIK Yowie has a small fridge in his car and we will have some coolers/eskys. I would say that the closests shops would be anywhere from 15mins-45mins away.. If there is room and its not to much trouble, sure bring it, if not then dont worry, we will get by, either way we are all very greatful for the offer Amulte. Torsten Posted December 23, 2005 if the meet is going to be closer to the coast rather than woy out west I would be happy to pop in a couple of times, rather than just once. That means I can provide a lift to anyone starnded at the airport or at Byron/M'bah train. The date entry was requested because I can't seem to find what date was actually decided on and I don't feel like trawling through 3 threads with a total of over 10 pages I am sure others will exclaim 'shit, that was yesterday" the day after the trip starts.
