caludia Posted August 24, 2005 microsoft and intel seem to be in a similar boat at the moment. both rely on their positions as monopolies or quasi-monopolies for the bulk of their revenues. And both seem to have hit a brick wall in coming up with new ideas and new reasons for people to buy their products. like, what's wrong with XP, or linux for that matter? who'd pay to "upgrade" to this new crap (with no service packs either) They will rely on sales of new comps and their inter-company dealings and agreements to get this new OS a market share...
