muanah
Greetings to all, After a major ‘Swedish Death Cleaning’ of a brother-of-a-friend-of-a-cousin’s home, living in a country where these things are permissible, a small forgotten apothecary has been found. We wonder if the efficacy & viability of these items will have been be maintained after 10+ years. I’m suggesting ‘probably not’, but would love to know what others think. When ‘jar’ is mentioned, this refers to those relatively airtight Moconna style coffee jars, ..... Trichocereus sp. (powdered) – stored in a ziplock bag ..... Salvia sp. (10x extract to coarse leaf material) – stored in ziplock bags, which are also in a jar ..... Mitragyna sp./Kratom (powdered) – stored in a jar. ..... South American ‘Art Supplies’ (concentrate) – stored in a ziplock bag, and has dehydrated to the point where it has the firmness and texture of a thin ‘fruit rollup’ snack. There’s a 12 year old post about this item on the forum, so I won’t name the specific material, but you can likely guess. ..... Sceletium sp (powdered & coarse plant material) stored in jar. ..... Nymphaea sp./Blue Lotus (coarse flower material). Stored in a ziplock bag ..... A moderate qty of brown seeds – I don’t expect a comment on this, as it’s a random description that I’ll have to research and ID. It is suspected to be an MAO inhibitor. Might be a post for another time when a photo is taken of them. So what does everyone think? Are these items destined for the trash can, or brought ‘to the front of the shelf’ for renewed consideration ?
fyzygy
Kratom degrades quickly, in a matter of months after leaf is harvested.

Kept in an air-tight jar (do you know the Moconna coffee type) - it has a plastic 'bung' under the glass lid, but it's my belief that nothing is truly air-tight, and a decade is a long long time. Plus it's finely powdered, so the surface area is thousands of times greater than raw leaf. I guess this one's destined for the trash. Any thoughts on the Salvia & also the Aya reduction ? It will be easy enough to 'analyze' the Salvia, which might be done tomorrow. but the Aya requires more commitment.
