They're about the same colour I got from enjaytee in a giveaway this year. He said they were Izmir giganteum.

 

But yeah I'm with G. So many varieties they could be anything.

Pretty unlikely to to be Galania given how hard the seeds are to come by!

Out of curiosity, how do people ID them other than the flowers, or pod size?

Well, apparently anything with white petals and purple spots is a "Tasmanian" according to the punters on the SAB Facebook page haha! (Don't get me started!)

In all seriousness though, unless you have certified seeds from a reputable source, where there was no chance of interbreeding, nobody knows. They hybridise at the drop of a hat.

You can take a stab at some fairly identifiable ones like danish flag, hens and chickens, pink peony etc. But anything else is a guess at best.
