Unknown T. peruvianus

Question

This looks quite similar to my roseii varieties, especially roseii 1. Or maybe another Matucana variety? Spines are relatively short, for a Peruvian torch.

peruvianus and roseii are just cultivars of pachanoi, probably. if it was a known roseii or peruvianus you could label it as such for posterity and record keeping, but, genetically, just an Echnopsis pachanoi

Very similar to rosei but the spines look a bit small imo, there is a lot of seed grown collectors corner perus that look a lot like this so it could also be one of them, where did you get it

It came from a collection in SA, sold as a bulk lot on eBay years ago. The seller didn't sell individual specimens, just occasional bulk lots of cuttings -- around 6 or so for $200 maybe, including a terscheckii. The original order went to the wrong address (an address across the street occupied by students) where it sat for a long while ... and rotted. The seller sent a replacement shipment that included mostly unlabelled specimens as substitutes -- this being one of them.
