That’d be fantastic! Thanks heaps! :D ❤️

Your name is already on the list. Patience, young grasshopper

Edit: final threshing and winnow yield is around 80,000 seeds by weight estimate. Pretty chuffed

I am in the US so am not asking for you to send seeds, however I am about to start my own batch of a.confusa and would love some special advice for sowing & growing. Or a thread referral if there's one you like.

Hi Scarlet, check out the' happy wattle day thread' in Swaps section.  @communacacian gives a nice rundown on germinating Acacia at the start.

Peace

Hey @Gimli

Do you have any photos of your trees?

I've been out picking seeds today up near Moora and while I'm pretty sure they're broad variety, the phyllodes are much longer and thicker than the ones down around York.

Also curious as to your harvest method.

I've just gotten maybe 500-750 seeds and had to painstakingly split each pod and rub my nail down them to disconnect every seed.

I imagine your using a sieve of some variety.

Here are the only photos I really have. I have found that broad phyllode is pretty consistent over it's entire endemic range. Without flowers it's hard to say for sure. If you could smell the heart wood that would help also...

Did you take photos of the specimen(s) you collected from?

I hand* threshed the pods and the seed basically fell out. Does help if they are really dry. Then winnowed it a few times.

They do have the distinctive smell, i tore some bark off a recently toppled tree and gave it a whiff.

Looks to be the same stuff except almost all the trees up here have some kind of parasitic growing through parts of them.

I'll post photos in a separate giveaway thread with some unidentified local acacias that i'm hoping someone can help me identify.

I still need your address via PM. Please get back to me before Friday or you'll be skipped. I will not be holding seed past then, I plan to mail 43 letters on Friday and close this giveaway.

Thanks
