unknown smelly

Question

can someone id this little guy, its growing everywhere, very smelly ( in a good way), im having trouble describing the smell to anything else. purple flowers look nice, i would describe them as little puffs?

Some sort of Mentha. Maybe M. pulegium or M. aquatica. Neither of these is a perfect match though. Your specimen is set apart as its flowers have distinct pedicels.

I use to hear people call it croften or crofft weed when i was kid on the north coast. Dont let live stock eat it cause im pretty sure it fucks up cattles respiratory systems and kills them easily and it makes horses go pisss poor in condition.

 

Im not 100% but it definitely looks close
