@Torsten - if you like I can contribute some kambo (there's enough on the stick I have for the whole of Mullumbimby and it's just well, sitting in the freezer.)
I love that @sharxx101 has donated towards this event.  I wish I could throw in extra - perhaps closer to the time.  Fucking so many bills!!!  Timing couldn't be worse but I'll get there somehow.

Today would have been Christian's 39th birthday (for those who had him on FB, yes he purposefully put his DOB as 25/3, it's actually 26/3.)  I would have been giving him shit about getting old (he was younger then me, always a fun contentious point.)

Fucking onions!  Who's cutting onions?  Damnit...  :(

Hey Gem, have you tried the kambo lately? I used to sell the sticks until I realised they lose potency rather quickly. I mean months (that's quick if people only buy once a fortnight ;) ). That was 10 years ago. Now they'd be flying off the shelf.
I've got a couple on the way. or at least I hope so. South american suppliers can be so unreliable :(  A local practitioner has also promised to help out with a stick if mine don't get here in time. So we SHOULD be alright. Mind you, I like to have as many back up options as possible ;)
39, ha! he barely looked 29! Thanks for the reminder of his birthday. I get so used to FB reminding me.

Bigred, that's awesome! I think we're at 14 so far. plus a couple of helpers and myself, so not far off 20. Bound to be a few vegans though :P
If you want to keep an eye on numbers you can look at the camp fee link. I originally put up 100, so substract whatever is still left from that and you have the attendees.

yum yum. Hangi works well in dry or sandy soil. We're on pure clay. So if it rains (or rained the days before) you'd end up more with a boiled leg of venison than a roast ;)
I have a very basic BBQ here. Also a 1m cast iron bowl fire pit. There are no fire restrictions, so feel free to come up with any roasting option you like ;)
Not a lot of hardwood on the property as it is mostly camphor and younger soft-medium trees. I'll try and score some hardwood for roasting options. Can't do a camp wihtout marshmallows ;)

What about lighting i have a gas lantern

Regarding the Hangi if we did it the 2nd night  may give us time to dry the soil out with fire

For those southerners driving up, I'm preparing a "midway" campsite as well, ~40min from Kempsey, on private property. So if you feel like breaking up the drive to/from NNSW, you're welcome to stay a night or few on your way there/back. Pretty basic - water, firewood, sheltered areas for camp kitchen, gas cooker. No power, but nearby general store has ice. If there's enough interest maybe we can pass the hat around for another gas bottle & get some hot showers happening as well. Post in this thread or PM me if you're keen, we can start a group PM convo for the details.

will have a generator running into the evening for lights and music etc, but it probably won't reach into the camp area (only the social area and kitchen). And we may need to turn it off by about 1am (haven't asked the neighbours yet). I should have a few tiki torches sitting around somewhere and have plenty of lamp oil.
I am open to all ideas, but probably best to see what the weather does before planning a hangi.

Things are really shaping up now, fantastic. I'm just wondering if the nursery will be open for plant sales at some point over the course of things. was assuming that, but just thought i'd check..

I am sure we can arrange that freakazoid. It's open on friday and monday anyway, but if you're only here for sat & sun then we'll work something out. I am sure others will want to have a look around anyway.

To be able to keep tabs on numbers and contact details I've set up a hidden item in our webstore for the camping registration. You can't find the item by looking for it in the store. You can only get to it by using this link:

Is anyone else having trouble buying a ticket?

I have tried doing the registration/payment screens in every order I can think, using the different "checkout" buttons (in case one is broken or something), refreshing, logging-out-then-in-again, attempting this transaction as a signed-in customer & not...and I just can't get it to progress past the "Cart contents" page to actually finalise the bloody transaction.

At first it was insisting that I select a shipping method, but I traced that to an ancient "please notify me when you have stock" item that I must've left in the cart last time (& which was still demanding shipping selection even though it was still unavailable), and removed that. So now it shows "camp site booking fee" as the sole item in the cart, but the checkout/proceed-to-checkout buttons just don't do anything. Actually, on further fucking around, it seems that I'm having this problem even on regular items from the store - none of them can find the checkout afterwards.

Any ideas? Is this a temporary/known issue with the store & certain browsers or somesuch - eg. if paypal is just Having Issues today or something & that's fucking up the store payment page & I should just try again tomorrow when it'll all be better again? Or is this some weird isolated problem caused by technology being allergic to me? (seriously I'm a kind of chaotic attractor of unique awful technical issues). Because I think I can circumvent either of those things given time, but it would help to know which is the likely culprit.

@Anodyne I was having the same problem around a week ago.

I messed around a bit with incognito mode, checking out as guest, re-adding the item from the link, etc. and it finally worked somehow.

@aguacolla thanks for the tips, but I can't seem to get that working from this computer - Firefox can't find the checkout at all, and Chrome *might* be able to find it, but I can't get there because it insists on shipping options for this item (even as guest, with no other items in the cart, which Firefox didn't do) & also won't let me checkout as a guest. I even tried adding other things from the store to see if that might trigger the payment screen to work, but it doesn't.

I'll try from another computer when I get a chance, and if that doesn't work I'm sure I can just send cash to one of you lovely people who can see the checkout screen to buy a ticket for me. Or if it came to it Torsten would probably accept a postal order with "PLZ GIMME CAMP TIX" scrawled in crayon on the back, so long as it arrived before the deadline - so I wasn't real worried about that. I was just curious what was happening to other people, because the entire store payment section looks broken from my end, but it breaking in all different ways with different browsers/settings made me wonder if there was some configuration that was functional for other people, or if SAB store is actually broken.

sounds like session or cache problems. Or maybe some security setting like refusing cookies. using a different device usually fixes that as caches and sessions are stored on the device, not on the server. I'll check now to make sure it's all functioning, so if i don't comment further it is fine.
Also, just check that your shipping cost is zero for both options. if it isn't there must be a glitch related to your other item. .

Ah cheers Torsten - there was a hot mess of security layers set up on the computer I was using, wasn't sure where to even start. For anyone else encountering the same problems, the fix (on Firefox at least) seemed to just be: allow shaman-australis cookies, but delete any old ones. I still needed to choose a shipping option (both=zero $) to proceed, but could get to the checkout/payment screens after that. Success!

I'm not used to having software issues that can be resolved so easily (or at all) - I'm torn between feeling relieved about it, and being a bit nonplussed because at this point, if I didn't need to reinstall the OS &/or build a unstable scaffold of third-party hacks to fix/circumvent the problem, then it kinda feels like Firefox isn't even trying...it just doesn't seem sporting. The easy victory makes me suspect a feint, and wonder what the 'orrible thing is really up to...

Hello, I'm Caleb. I'm new here.

I had a dream at my Easter Long Weekend Vipassana short course that I came to this event and met lots of "familiar" people that I don't know from my physical reality. I never met the guy but I think it's safe to say that the universe kinda wants me to come regardless.

I've paid the registration fee but I need to organise a lift there and back. Does anyone have a spare seat from Sydney/Blue Mountains? Not sure if I can afford airfare...

I'm jolly good company. :)

Anodyne, the cookies are rather essential for the webstore to operate properly, so that's likely all it was. I am glad the fix was so easy.

Get ready for a rant kids.  First up Caleb...

I definitely remember you from EGA last year - the first date coinciding with Christian's death.

Yeah you were fun, quite the social butterfly but @Quasi-J ''the guy'' in your post has a fucking name.  Don't be so disrespectful and treat this as some ordinary SAB camp to socialise.  @Torsten organised this meet for people that couldn't attend Christian's memorial - whether financial or just because they didn't think they'd be welcome at his parent's organised memorial.  IDGAF what your Vipassana bollocks 'told you' but this wasn't set up as a social event.

I have been planning and looking forward (? looking forward - I know, strange) to a chance to say my goodbye to Christian.  I loved him so much.

I also was looking forward to catching up with friends I made at EGA - I don't know everyone's alias but I hope you all know who I mean - there's @OpticalLight, @watertrade, @Anodyne, @Halcyon Daze, @etherealdrifter, @El Presidente Hillbillios and a bunch of people I didn't know their SAB names (and don't want to name real names, I'll probably come back and edit this.)

This is my second attempt at typing this, I wanted to say how much I appreciated sharxx101 (couldn't find your username, sorry mate) and others who have thrown in some extra towards T organising this event.

Massive love to @StRaNgEdAyS and @El Presidente Hillbillios and @OpticalLight for your offers to help me get from Brisbane to T's property for the camp.

I'm utterly crushed but I really don't feel I'd be welcome there - what with what I've heard of the gossip and shit.
