Unknown Cactus?

Question

I bought this cactus a while ago and can't remember what it is - I would recognize what species it is, if anyone has any ideas?

Thanks for your help!

Looks like a Cereus of some sort , not sure which .

Does also look a bit like a pilosocereus too come to think of it.

bit inexperienced with these myself but maybe others can help pinpoint better

Welcome to the forum by the way!

yeah I forgot about those but do bump into them regularly on ebay searching too

usually skim over anything that isnt a tricho tho so wouldn't be sure

.. but figured nobody had answered yet (maybe they're all on holiday or something) so I'd give it a shot at what it looked like.

There's defo better SABbers for non trichocereal ID maybe they haven't seen the thread yet?

Either way I hope it makes out to be a great plant for you and doesn't prickle too bad.

Thanks! I have also been told it is Neoraimondia herzogiana?

Yes a Neoraimondia, or Neocardenasia I believe is the new valid name. Probably Herzogiana but there are other species/subspecies of Neocardenasia that are quite similar. My only freak cactus ATM is a Herzogiana that grows into itself on one side cause the ribbs are growing at different pase. Then it shoots another arm that grows into itself. One arm only has 2 ribbs and grows in a spiral.

Edit: Browsed the internet, it's a Herzogiana.
