If you zoom in enough it looks like harambe with a weird red nose

Looks like a bigger more evolved version of what my cacti has atm. Is that the only one? Just below it there's a smaller brown dot I can see which looks exactly like mine. Are there more or similar things on it. If it's related to the problem I've got it appears it's a fungus due to over watering, or high humidity.

Have you got kids mate??

I looked at your pic and the dood said what i was thinking. 

Pull it out and take another photo of both the spine?? And the wound.

Mine just so happens to be red...  As soon as I touched it the red bit fell out - into my terracotta gravel.  Gone.

It was not a scale insect?  That would explain why it had a digit of extruded goop.

 

Not that ive ever seen scale goop harden like that....
