0 Micromegas Posted December 23, 2016 unless this is somehow a trick where something obvious isn't what it appears to be, this is trichocereus (echinopsis) spachianus. only thing that looks close is t. camarguensis but is more, finessed. one spachianus in the garden is essential coz they are actually quite pretty (in my opinion), especially back-lit by the sun, but nearly enough.
0 Halcyon Daze Posted December 23, 2016 I've never seen a spach with such long hairy spines. I can run my hand down a spach without being spiked, but that doesn't seem possible with my mate's mystery cactus. I agree the spination looks a lot like camarguensis (I have a couple of those) but the mystery cactus looks a bit too chunky to be a camerguensis. Maybe a hybrid?
