Bonza buddy I'm stoked to hear! You had me worried but glad it came thru with ya handy work! What's the goals for this garden man? I'm curious at to why you've planted so many of each type? It's gonna be epic

will do mapacho, for sure.

goal is just bulk I guess. and theyre all nice clones in the mass area. I had to make a decision this year of whether to plant or sell, obviously I went with plant.

long term plan is to have a garden open to public for a fee and have a nursery and spend my older years wandering the cacti fields.

and fruit, I want enough fruit so I can eat it. but my farm will be 99% trichs and that's how I like it, so no cereus or prickly pear.

man...so tired of cactus, so tired of digging, potting, commerce

im gunna take a week and float 100km down the murray, maybe throw out a fishing line, maybe buy a kite.

but mainly just float, and chill, maybe buy an umbrella.

peru's still on the cards, but the cost is starting to cramp my style.

Njoy it while it lasts man, too soon it will be cold again n all them sexy plants will go dormant, n then all there is to do is go shroom hunting in the rain.

i will do one of 2 things, hibernate or go to peru for 3 months, If I go to peru I will return and release the location of my farm, but if peru is put off to 2018 then so will the release of the location. I aint going overseas for 3 months with people knowing the location. once im back im back for good,  this will be my last hurrah.

It doesn't end.... but still enjoy your holiday. If you're lucky you won't have to work until the day you die.

youre right it doesn't end. even once I fill my 7 acres I will still want to expand, hopefully 30 years from now I will have properties all over northern vic full of cacti. once I fill my joint im gunna start buying acre blocks here and there, put up cyclone fencing around em and just plant my little heart out. god help the person that inherits my legacy, lol.

so im gunna start posting all my random shitty quotes in this thread. mix it up with cacti pics.

Wake up. don't worry, theyre gone.

You know I once had this buddy named Maboko.

We used to hunt bushmeat together as kids huh.

Now baboons, baboons they were the hardest to catch. ah theyre cunning cunning creatures, fast, strong, got good eyesight.

but We'd always find them,by the smell of their shit, and that's how we learned to track your black terrorists in Angola huh: by the smell of your shit. It's not the same as a baboon's but you know, after you skin it, the flesh of a baboon isnt that much different than a mans you know, I tell you, I can track anything. You risk my life like that again, and ill peel your face back off your head, do you understand...make us a fire.

Crazy envious of what you have going on there godless.  I'd do the same with my property if everything would survive the winters here.

What are your plans for grass management?

grass management, just a ride on mower, and pulling weeds out by hand that pop up close to the cacti.

the area to the right in the first pic of the psycho0 is gunna be scraped clean by an excavator, Theres an old fallen down chook shed and a big old rubbish pile so I cant go in there with the mower, this area will be stripped, ground cover layed, edged with sleepers, and then 3-4 inches of compacted rock. should be about 65mx30m but will be an odd shape. that will be my area for pots.

LESSON 1

when planting out best to let plants get to approx. 80cm in a 25-30cm pot and develop a good root system.

The "PA" " Peruvian army" met this criteria and are booming

in saying that most I planted that were 50cm ish with root systems are doing fine, but bigger root system the better.

PS, ive had no losses, just slower development than I would like.

EDIT - avoid planting cuttings with no roots, no matter the size, except sausage, that thing powered from word go with no roots.

I would imagine given they have the earth to grow into now, they'll expend a lot of energy making a root system. I wouldn't be too concerned with growth yet. I'm sure when their established they will go crazy. Looks amazing.
