eYann Posted October 26, 2016 Hello, this is the first cactus I've had that has flowered. I currently have all my cacti in a hothouse (enclosed) but a few are beginning to flower, as this loph here. My question is, should it be outside to fruit, or do I have to cross-pollinate it on my own to make it fruit, or will it just do it on its own?
zelly Posted October 27, 2016 apple iphone 6 huh...... check out the dried fruit on the other head, its got some seeds inside....yer plant must be self fertile. twirl a tiny paint brush in the middle of the flower, brush more pollen on the pistle, maybe you can increase seed count by assisting pollination
sagiXsagi Posted November 2, 2016 seems like a caespitosa strain. lopho self-pollination seems like a hit or miss. I am not really sure but casespitosas seem a little bit "easier" to fruit
