Jai Posted May 26, 2016 Hi guys. Just found these guys growing in a woodchip garden bed in my yard. Hoping they are P. subaeruginosa? Might be a bit early to tell. Can I ask for tips on how to make this patch thrive for the future? This is the first time I have seem them growing in my yard - I really want to make these guys sustainable for the future!

Strontium Dawg Posted June 27, 2016 They look exactly like the lil ones I've been admiring in my home patch, and the chips I was gifted were passed on as sub spawn. I have been admiring them before the slugs eat them all, and despite some odd shaped caps, they are certainly worth our admiration. Feed them some new chips once they are done flushing. Softwood will be quicker to colonise, but some hardwood should add longevity. Spread some colonised chips to new areas to assist them.
Etho Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) If they are Indeed subs feed them fresh wood chips annually, also only pick 2/3 of the mushrooms, leave the others to drop spores, this increases genetic diversity and increased health in the patch according to Stamets.
