How to Save this Fellow

Recommended Posts

How do you reckon I could save this fellow. I think getting it onto it's own roots would be best. Do you think I should just gut the pereskiopsis and bury it under ground as it is already dry and wait or the columnar to grow roots or cut the columnar and wait for it to callous?

While the weather is still warm, I'd just cut and root it. A 3 day callous with a fan could be sufficient if the rooting medium is pure pumice.

Lotsa steps

One step.

plant the rooted & dried pereskiopsis just like it is in a deeper pot with soil up to and 2" above the end of the trich. keep the potting soil relatively dry. place some rocks around the stem to stabilize it while it grows new roots.

with this method theres no down time, no recovery time, no stalled growth time, just one fluid transition to a better root system.
