zed240 Posted February 19, 2016 Hey all. I cut a piece of this plant to propogate it a few days ago and am interested in a trade. I'm looking for others trichos I don't own already. Nice pachanoi, peruvianus or possibly interesting hybrids. Ecuadorian or KK339 type pach would be nice. Fatty trichos also desired and considered. This plant seems to be a hybrid, somtimes is nicknamed "Pacharu". Cutting for trade is a 37cm mid cut. (pictured with tape measure). A very unique and attractive plant. Very short spaces between each areole. Other pics are to show what it will grow into. To trade
zelly Posted February 19, 2016 I'm looking for others trichos I don't own already. not sure, but its doubtful you own any in my garden unless of course you have a spare woolunda pach
Evil Genius Posted February 19, 2016 This could very well be Trichocereus puquiensis. The one from the description, which is a lot closer to Tr. pachanoi than Tr. peruvianus or Tr. cuzcoensis.
Halcyon Daze Posted February 19, 2016 What does the name pacharu mean/refer to?
zed240 Posted February 20, 2016 unless of course you have a spare woolunda pach Well, I wouldn't call it spare, but i do have a woolunda. What does the name pacharu mean/refer to? I didn't the coint the term, but I think someone came up with it because they thought it looked like a cross between pachanoi and peruvianus. so I guess the "ru" part comes from peRUvianus. I dunno though. We can just call it a hybrid. Or of course if EG is right I'd be happy to call it a puquiensis. I don't think anything we name it will stop me liking it in a hurry. theuserformallyknownasd00d Posted February 20, 2016 I can definatly see the Puquensis traits in there, compared to my own plants anyways. Those V notches seem to give it away. At least with the plants I'm growing of it
Evil Genius Posted February 20, 2016 Here is a pic to the original Tr. puquiensis in the sense of the description. From Tricho Nest!
