Trichocereus ID and other.

Question

Hello sabsters

Firstly, sorry for the quality and layout of photos. I'm on my phone and don't seem to have the hang of it. Here's the first plant:

Looks like a scop, but minimal almost non-existent spines. The plant I took the cutting from was insanely fat.

Second one:

Only one photo sorry. Trichocereus is my best guess. Possibly peruvianus?

Last one:

I think it's a Bridge but could it possibly be a cross? I got this guy of PD years ago and not only is it beautiful it grows nice and fast. Any guess as to what is happening in the last photo?

Thanks for your help. Getting off my arse and getting my garden in order.

cheers

First one is a Scop, second one is a peruvianus with strong Cuzcoensis relativity (more pics wouldnt hurt) and the third is a Bridgesii. Which one is hard to say without at least knowing a list of possible contenders. I´ll have a closer look at it later.

One last thing; please DO NOT discuss "teas" here. Thanks.

Spine length is absolutely not a reliable trait when Id´ing a plant. Especially not when dealing with hybrids. That said, it could as well be "just" any type of unnamed Bridgesii. A large part of the Bridgesiis on the market are not as variable as Tr. Peruvianus and there are a lot of them that are relatively uniform in their appearance.

Agree with EG except for the the psycho0 part, defiantly a bridgesii or hybrid of though. Looks like the tip may have been damaged by snails.

So what traits do make you assume this is a psycho0 then?

Evil Genius, great on the ID's as always. You're definitely somebody I'd ask when trying to ID a mystery tricho!

The cacti does indeed have some traits reminiscent of the Psycho0 clone, I can see why you might guess it to be so.

But personally, I am not convinced that the plant is the Psycho0 clone, and would tend to believe it's not. Similar, but not very... especially when compared to the various appearances of other T. Bridgesii plants.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the replies and the help. EG, this is twice you've helped me out with Id. Thanks man.

IIRC the Second plant was labelled Peruvianus, but this was a long time ago. I'm happy to call it that. But i'll see if I can't get more shots of it.

I have a psycho0, and the bridge is definitely different. Larger spines than the psycho0 I'm growing.

Bridgesii it is. :)

Cheers
