I think this ones distinct from my others. Came from the private collection of a nursery manager in Fremont, CA.

It's slower growing and tends to terminate.

slower grower, terminates etc etc . seems to be the one described in this thread variously like kada strain, altmans clone, TPM#1,  pachanoi monstrosa ,  and has been also called  "short spined peruv"   .  Nice mother plant

the commonest two forms can be safely be treated as pachanois. it just gets more creative with a monster and more interesting

Thanks! I have some pach montrose seedlings going and the 5% or so showing crest/montrose characteristics seem to be more prone to sunburn. Made me wonder if I needed to treat them differently.

IMG_0053.JPGIMG_0053.JPGThis graft was done on July 28. And for all of Aug and most of Sep...nothing. Then in the last week, signs of life! I don't have very much experience grafting, but is this normal?

Yeah that's normal, some take off straight away others stall. If they are plump after grafting most eventually grow.

These two I kept indoors tonight as it is supposed to freeze. The rest are outside seeing if they can survive freezing weather as an experiment.... we shall see what makes it and what doesn't, but I didn't have the heart to experiment with these yet. Perhaps after I graft a few more clones...pachcrest558.thumb.jpg.760fcdb17140b1c213b4de41f9a9b590.jpgcrestpacht561.thumb.jpg.9c93412e53e9435a4e6416c9b43116c2.jpg Both are Trichocereus pachanoi.

Nice thread and gorgeous plants everyone!

Here's what I got:

- Pachanoi monstrose, sourced from Italia. Looks similar to the Altman clone? The guy sells PC labeled as such so it's likely:

IMG_20180307_141507-1203x1604.thumb.jpg.f0ecb3b207ad4c75ff7dde0e1db4e8ce.jpg IMG_20180307_141453-1203x1512.thumb.jpg.b9f3727f9ce358d364e5e77162ed8828.jpg

- Crested pachanoi, sourced from europe. Last pic is from last year, it grows fast:

IMG_20180306_165256-1203x1499.thumb.jpg.b9246d88c2f2320eca4cf21d46509ac0.jpg IMG_20180306_163218-1203x1568.thumb.jpg.871a039aa11d7245dba3642a493e4d40.jpg large.IMG_20170522_162952-1060x1413.jpg.

- Sausagy/caespitose/monstrose T. peruvianus, it literally pupped from every single areole on the bottom half or so:

IMG_20180306_163319-1203x1388.thumb.jpg.49d53686eabfc3ca18adb27f7c0cf6c4.jpgIMG_20180306_163339-1203x1375.thumb.jpg.144af2b051d67d516b5cb010f7b36dc6.jpg

- Caespitose pachanoi or maybe peruvianus, some of the pups aren't normal pups as in they didn't emerge from an areole, but rather that areole started swelling and morphing into a pup, as seen in the middle of the last pic:

IMG_20180307_101239-1203x1413.thumb.jpg.1d69f0d75a9b249a51849fe352db8f02.jpg IMG_20180307_141705-1203x1471.thumb.jpg.2606b5dcd471ea7b67a6ac4548829846.jpg IMG_20180307_141747-1203x902.thumb.jpg.0f0754c1dbbc5c0739992b38c15ab71e.jpg

- Pachanoi seedlings from Koehres seeds, seemingly doing some funky stuff. They'll be grafted soon:

IMG_20180307_143114-1203x713.thumb.jpg.069502e97303aa7f0be36107c6f8ed10.jpg

- If hybrids count, here are some. First I have this magnificent Oscar x Helen grown by PedroPark. I might soon cut one of the tiny pups off and graft it:

- TPM x SS02 crest, a thing of beauty. Sourced from Spooge like all the following plants:

I am watching some reverts from my european crests, they haven't yet re-crested but I am very curious to what will happen. but it doesnt happen a lot.

also yeah, sure the TBM crest reverts back to penis, that's what it does, its not your water. I have rooted many of that penis reverts to compare with the normal (clone B ) that I have - I think they're different.
