Hi Guys,

someone in my Facebook group grew this from supposed Köhres Scopulicola seed.

post-1140-0-34123300-1441817317_thumb.jp

No idea what it actually is but my guess is that it´s actually a Cuzcoensis of some sort. I know a lot of people got some of this seed...has anyone grown one of them to a similar size yet and can verify that this is actually the Köhres Scop? This is the first pic of a Köhres Scop I´ve seen so far.

That seed did not come directly from Köhres but was sold/given away as seed labeled as Scopulicola from Köhres. Now there are two possibilities...The first is that the person who passed on the seed had an accidential mix-up and mixed up Scop and Cuzcoensis...or...the Köhres Scop is something else.

How are your grafts doing so far? Anyone with a plant of a size that would help to clear this up? Would love to see some seedlings because I am growing some too, though they are not big enough yet. But they are very spiny, even as small seedlings. Thanks for your input!

looks more like a terscheckii than a cuzco meine Kamerad. All of my koehres scops were eaten by gnat larvae and i feel much better about it now.

Damn I had a similar looking Koehres Scop that I grafted as well. I got my seeds directly from koehres.

I agree looks more like a terscheckii. Was hoping it was just a single seed or packet. This is the last straw for me and I'll never order from koehres again.

Will probably graft another seedling next week since I'm not gonna just dump my 500+ seedlings.

It has black rot/weeping? on the top growth but is pushing through. Very similar looking to that picture posted when it was starting out.

Thanks a lot for posting this Modern Shaman. Glad you could verify this so fast because that might save others from a lot of disappointment.

It is still very early so I am a little hopeful that there is atleast some Scop genetics in these seeds but doesn't look good.

It´s Trichocereus werdermannianus. We grafted a few and they are pretty cool. Wrong species though. They are still sold as Scops in Peru. These Peruvian seeds were picked up by all kinds of shops.

I have a shytload of super-fresh seed I just harvested from my spineless scop.

The mother is 'Halcyon Scop" (spineless) and the father is 'Sumo Scop' (also spineless). AFAIK no-one else has either of these two top clones, well only those I've given them away to.

I was gonna do a give away with the seeds soon.

I will happily send OS, actually I'd prefer that as I know some places have no spineless scops.

So if you want a pack of 100 seeds pm me. But I will be out of contact for a few days (camping) then stating a new job. So give me a week to reply to your request.

cheers!
