Evil Genius Posted February 13, 2016 Very cool, thank you both! The Matucana will most likely be the most stunning ones, simply because this type is awesome and very similar to Rosei 2.
Evil Genius Posted March 11, 2016 Hey guys, this competition is coming to an end soon. I´d love to see a new status update. Like always, greatly appreciated.
GreenFingers Posted March 13, 2016 OK so first off my apologies for the bad formating and pics, I'm doing everything off my phone. Every pic was taken a few short minutes before night time so lighting isn't the greatest. All of now been regrafted to some pc pach rootstock. So first up are the matucanas Next is of the Lurin Valley My Knuthianus is still stalled but hopefully spring brings him to life.
Evil Genius Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) Nice, those Lurins don´t look that much like cuzcoensis, do they? At least not on the first look. That´s great! Thanks for posting them, GreenFingers! Edited March 13, 2016 by Evil Genius
GreenFingers Posted March 13, 2016 No nothing to suggest cuzco to me so far. They have been looking absolutely stunning and my blurry phone pics don't do them justice. VERY sexy looking peruvian. The second smaller graft has just recently been taking on most of the rootstock energy and now after degrafting the larger one I except to see a lot more growth. Hopefully in 3 or 4 weeks I'll have some decent progress on the pc root stock grafts to show.
Enrique sanchez Posted March 15, 2016 I have a bunch of your stuff in early grafted stages EG. I'll have to get some photos together and post the results...

Conv3rgence Posted March 31, 2016 (edited) Thanks for the seeds EG. I had a bit of a late start due to delivery complications, but here's my biggest, "Lurin Vale" And a photo 4 days after the last one... This guy is growing fast! Note the very top areoles/spines. Evil Genius Posted April 1, 2016 Hey guys, this competition is finished now. Please post your final updates in the next day or two. Thanks a lot to Conv3rge for this really cool update! With that said; I´d love to see more pics or updates outside of the competition later on! I´ll have a look at the rules and we´ll pick a winner then. bye Eg

Conv3rgence Posted April 3, 2016 um... my graft entry has grown since the last photo. If we are delaying the deadline, could I re-submit when everyone else does to be fair? Cheers
GreenFingers Posted April 3, 2016 Hmm yeah my most recent pics will have to be my entry. All my pere grafts have since been regrafted to some pc pach rootstock. I could probably take pics of those at some point.
Evil Genius Posted April 3, 2016 um... my graft entry has grown since the last photo. If we are delaying the deadline, could I re-submit when everyone else does to be fair? Cheers Yes, absolutely. I´ll have a close look at the entries and will make a decision about this within the next week. It´s possible we let it run 2-3 months longer but I want everything to stay fair and I´ll only do that if it really makes sense. So gimme a day or two to check everything and I´ll post an update here. Everyone is invited to post an update until then. If Conv3rge´s plant has grown since the pic, he´s certainly allowed to post a new update.
Evil Genius Posted April 4, 2016 Hey guys, so I´d propose we end the competition now. I made a posting on Facebook to make sure we get some voters that will vote by liking the postings. Posts without images are out of competition. I personally voted every post with pics, which makes me out of the whole thing as well. I have a few pics that I really like and I thank everyone who participated. I´d love to see more pics in the future. Besides everyone who is in the competition is invited to post their final updates now. Dont wait too long because some people might miss them and I dont want it to become unfair. Evil Genius Posted April 11, 2016 25 grafts were performed on the 22th of December 2015, it looks like about 20 have taken i just put them under lights today to help them kick into growth, Hi guys, the competition is over and Change´s posting got the most likes. Thank you all for your photos and for being part of this competition. I´d love to see more updates of those plants in the future. Though the official competition is over, I hope the thread goes on. I will probably rename this thread into EG Competion and grafts thread or some funky stuff like this. I will start a new giveaway soon. Everyone who messaged me about seeds, please get in touch with me next time I start a giveaway. Change, feel free to send me your address and claim your prize. :-D bye EG

Berengar Posted April 15, 2016 I have nothing to show, I've been absent for the much of the last 3 months and most grafts succumbed to molds and winter in general. A few survived, and most of the seedlings survived as well (the second batch), so I'll hopefully be able to graft some more and show a couple nice semi-mature looking beautiful peruvianoids at the end of summer! Congratulations Change!!
GreenFingers Posted May 5, 2016 Rio Lurin matucana matucana My favorite looking matucana graft got knocked off awhile ago unfortunately :-( it's laying around somewhere rooting. Just a little update. All these guys should be ready to repot into larger pots in anticipation for summer.

Berengar Posted February 3, 2017 I dropped out of this competition long ago because I've had various problems during this time and all my grafts failed, but anyway here are the surviving seedlings. I've put them under the lamps now to coax them out of dormancy and when the weather starts showing sings of spring I'll transplant them and put them outside. Will probably graft a few as well, especially knuthianus. Most of these are Matucana, half a dozen are knuthianus and a few of tarmaensis and Lurin.
Evil Genius Posted February 3, 2017 Hey mate, glad to see some of the seedlings! I will reactivate this thread sometime in the next week with a new batch of seeds!
GreenFingers Posted February 7, 2017 we all appreciate your generosity to this community EG! And the specimens you provide are absolutely stunning. If your reactivating for another competition I better get some grafting stock going soon!!
