Black tops

Question

Hi Guys,

I found these recently in some damp woodchip/leaf matter. We had rain that night and v-low temps.

I've been told they could be subs but I've never seen them that colour. Can the dark tops be a result of bruising from the rain. It's a dark green/blue black colour and they all had it to varying degrees.

What do you think?

rain, caps drying out, wind, frost, rain, drying out, wind etc............ can cause cap discolouration like that.

IF they are subs -

some say they are 2ce as strong as the psilocin has built up on the mushroom, some say the be weaker as they have oxidised.

They could be subs but they look gross.

I'm not confident enough to give a positive ID unless I saw them in person.

Haha I figured they were old when they didn't throw spore.

Turns out another guy I know was at the same spot and found them to be superb.

I will agree that the split caps might be rotten though I have seen worse. Thanks for the advice guys
