nrivers Posted March 21, 2017 Have been watching the big fella wake up. He seems to come to life late every season. Pachycereus pringlei
Psyentist Posted March 22, 2017 (edited) That's beautiful Nrivers! How old is he? And Spooge, last time I was at Fields I got cuttings of 3 different chilensis. The one in the earlier post was from the big one next to the garden valida. Here are the other two... I was told the second one is 'longispinus', it's located behind the little waist high shade house thing towards the front (road side) of the garden. The first is located somewhere in between the other two. Also, that pachanoi is ridiculous! Thought this guy was looking particularly perky this morning... ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted April 17, 2017 Got 2 cactulas of the week for last week - hopefully will have cactus of the year in the coming week though :3! This "scop" with bigger than usual spines seems to have some kinda bridgesii facial features - as far as my lens detects at least,.. it came labelled as a pachanoi , I could tell it was scoppy from the ebay listing enough to "know" it was a scop and a very nice one too ...and it is defo more scop than anything else upon arrival.. - the dude sells a different plant as scop ... hmmm - my spidey senses are tingling toward a scopXbridge but gna stick with "spiny scop" for now what an honour to own another unique and beautiful scoppy plant to add to the aus-scop/cordo/superpedro/FR clan And this superbad epitome of a peruvianus - if only I'd've had one of these as a noob to base my sense of what a specimen peruvianus looks like in the flesh.. - and thus named cactoman! - for reference n stuffs

Zyppel Posted April 19, 2017 Thank you DualWieldRake, the species of the blue columnar I believe is Piloosocereus Palmeri or Pilosocereus Leucocephalus. Finger was just put there for reference to size ahah soon I have to weed my entire cacti garden which wont be fun
