0 magical9 Posted April 2, 2015 does anyone have a picture of a dichotomous tricho of any sort? would it branch all narly still?
0 M S Smith Posted April 3, 2015 One of my favorites. This plant shows regular, monstrose, and dichotomous growth all on the same plant. ~Michael~
0 zelly Posted April 3, 2015 heres another dicho pach, multiple stems on this plant have either gone crested or dicho the first column that went dicho produced a massive crest on one dicho stem, the other stem terminated after 16"-18" of growth. all that cresting is on one stem, the terminated one is right next to the spiny column
0 magical9 Posted April 7, 2015 wow, sic pics. thanks peeps. so what i gather is that a dichto tersch could possibly go crested later on or at the very least continue splitting and looking generally ridiculously badass?
0 Micromegas Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) about 25% of all validus tips i plant end up dichotomous, i have about 5. For this clone i think it's a trait. Quite frankly i'd rather they didn't as it slows them down a lot. Single stems are better although ask me in five years! as i do not know how they grow out, my guess however is unbalanced, slow and prone to toppling over but maybe they end up awesome, here's hoping. Monstrose however would be different. Edited April 10, 2015 by Micromegas
