SS hybrid, any ideas on ID?

Question

I grew this plant from Sacred Succulents seed a couple years ago but the entire crop lost their labels in a move. Just wondering if this plant bears any striking resemblance to someone else's and if there are any thoughts on what the cross could be. Obviously it's just speculation, but any suggestions are appreciated!

Well, most likely a SS02 Bridgesii. Not possible to guess the father though. The father of it could be everything because the plant is very typical for SS02 and in most cases, the F1 looks like the mother. I guess one of their most common clones is SS02 x SS01 but it could as well be something entirely else.

Could help if you remember what SS seed you grew a couple years ago. Were they named hybrids?

EG: Thanks for the input, helps at least some :)

MS: I don't know the exact crosses I sowed, they were all named for sure though. Definitely had SS02, 'Serra Canyon', Juul's Giant, Kimura's Giant, maybe SS01, but that's as much info as I can remember. Was one of my first seed sowings ever and didn't make any record of it really. Pet iguana knocked all of the pots off a shelf, never bothered labeling them again. It was actually more like 6 or 7 years than just a couple lol

SS02 is the only bridgesii in all what you mentioned and the specimen in your pic is bridgesii .......

Agreed, it looks like SSO2 is a parent and the other half of the hybrid can't be known without a test cross.

Are there any SS02 x T. bridgesii crosses? That one really doesn't look like an SS02 to me, but rather like a pretty normal T. bridgesii. Nazis?

In its current form, imho there is nothing about this plant that even remotely resembles SS02, other than it appears 'bridgesoid'.

A fully mature SS02xSS01 displays strong SS02 spine characteristics on tips of mature stems and strong SS01 spine characteristics on fully mature bases.

Branch tip growth on a mature SS02xSS01 closely resembles tip growth characteristics displayed in the OP.

I'd say plant it in the ground, wait 7-10 years, then you'll know.

I saw some SSO2 crosses with PC that had a few very bridgesii looking plants that did not look so much like SSO2, though they had a more intermediate spine habit with clear centrals being common.

As for SSO2 X bridgesii, I believe that may have happed but never ordered or grew any.

My SSO2 X SSO1 varied a bit. Not much, but a minority of them were the fastest growing plants I ever grew.

I have several SS02 x Bridge and they look very similar to your mystery plant.

Will post a couple of pics tonight.

I have sso2 x sera canyon that looks very similar although mine isn't fully mature yet. I believe sera canyon is a bridgesi.

I have ss02 x bridge and bridge x ss02. Way to small to make any comparison though.

I have another plant from the same seed sowings that looks identical to your SS02 x bridgesii, Getafix. Whether the clone from my OP is the same crosss idk, but possible for sure. Either way both are beauties. Thanks for all the input guys
