Zelly is in the hospital

Recommended Posts

Glad to hear that Zelly is doing better! I won A LOT of seeds from him and even a few cuttings from an online auction site. He was always a really nice person to deal with and a straight shooter. Best wishes and a speedy recovery.

I was about to offer you some help getting Medi-Cal, but I suppose you can cover the $32. Let me know if I can get you some CalFresh though.

Good to have health insurance in a situation like this, right? If i´d live in the USA, my medical bills would have bankrupted me three or four times already.

ROFL

If you like chocolate, you'll dig this. I'm sure I've seen Nutella in a store in the States. I'll figure a way to send you some, maybe via amazon or something ;-)

I have no medical insurance of any kind, yet receive the finest medical care available at basically no charge.

free doctor visits, free glasses, free hearing aids, free xrays & ultrasound exams, free orthodics, free visits to the ER & free hospital stays. I do have an $8 co-pay for medicines or drugs in pill form, thus the $32 charge for pills of warfarin, doxycycline, clindamycin, & hydrocodone. No charge for 2800 ml of Vancomycin in iv form, a rather powerful antibiotic.

However the initial 'buy in' price was rather steep, volunteering 4 years of my life in the Air Force during the Vietnam war. I was one of the lucky ones, coming out pretty much unscathed.

Glad you and your leg are still with us Z!

So cool to get little bits of info about people behind the SAB interface even though war is a horrible thing. Then again,.. the drama that the whole of mankind has been in throughout history is freaking heavy stuff and awesome at the same time.......

You fought in Vietnam for 4 years and they stil made you pay 32 dollars? Over here in socialist paradise, we sit on our bum till it falls off, then they fix it for free - apart from paying most of our income in tax.

I agree The 'buy in' price was high, but I'm impressed! Does anyone know if we have Veterans health care like this in Australia?

Are you referring to Australian military veterans or US veterans living in Australia?

For Aussie vets:

http://www.dva.gov.au/

For US vets living abroad theres:

&

I was thinking more of Aussie veterans being covered by the Australian government.

Hope you're all healed up well by now. I bought some seeds from you several months ago but have yet to plant them but I'm slowly getting around to it I think lol. Thank you for your service, and take care of yourself. My grandpa also was in Vietnam, he just passed away last month at the age of 75 after battling throat cancer for a year. I suspect Agent Orange as a likely culprit. Anyways take care of yourself, I look forward to ordering some more seeds when you get a new batch up for sale.
