Crazy Plant, Master B. Is that in a Pot? Could be a seedgrown FR 991 Scop. It fits the Time-Frame when Ritters seeds were distributed.

Hey EG

I grilled birds parents on linage and they said that they got it from a crazy american friend of their daughters over 30 years ago.( they described it as he used it for other things things not to do with growing)

They are in about 60-80 litre terracotta pots never been fed or watered apparently..

Birds dad just said that when a piece's broke off from wind he just replanted it in the same pots...

For the what it's worth, I'll be getting one of the spineless AUS scop clones within the next month or 2 from a member here. I'll try to get some cuts off of it as soon as I get a fair amount of growth for others here in the states.

What's the cross Zelly?

a near spineless pach, huarazensis, a massive beast of a plant.

a single spine per areole if any, the longest one seen on the plant is 3 cm near the base, the rest if any are 1 cm & occur mid way up the 3.5 meter main stem. maybe a dozen spines alltogether

Damn, that's a looker. Same as the one in the background (colossus?). I wish we had more of the Ecuadorian-type pachanois in Australia.

TheExplorer get the common NZ pachanoi! its the most spineless pachanoi I got. Moreso from than the ecuadorian type I have.

I would love one mutant but I don't think it's in Australia. I have a few near spineless pachanois but none have the same shape and colour.

you're probably right, it might not be so common....

then get some of the KK339 (ecuadorian type) pachanoi that was circulating at 2007-2008 in oz (my first cactus!)

Third from the bottom is the scop pod.

Top furthest right is zed240s yowie pod.

And all the rest are another new flush of flowers coming through...planning on them with scops as dads..

Great stuff Master B! Congrats on that double scop taking. Both of those crosses will be amazing! :drool2:

Have you cut the "tails" off of the fruits? I can't see them....

Yeah... Bird my mate whos scop it is.. cut them all off. I think he might have cut quiet a few pods as well,he was thinking that they had just rotted ... But his family have never seen a seed pod the whole time they have owned them.

I just went over to help him pollinate for the first time...its all quiet interesting to him and his family.

Best part he is quiet happy to spread the seeds in the community
