'live' electronica recordings

Recommended Posts

hey guys

been practicing with my live setup recently, here's a couple of one-take recordings if you'd like to check them out

the first is loosely based around one of my newer tracks, the second is purely improvised meanderings

https://soundcloud.com/invisible-prism/silver-cord

https://soundcloud.com/invisible-prism/docile-ambient-takeover-live

if anyone has worked out how to embed, please do let me know

thanks!

i love how those abrasive wrecking-synths swoop in NWEEEOOWNNRNNRGGG it's like doctor who

probably not an important or useful critique. i can't match half of the sounds to their instrument even though i know which instruments are probably in there, so i'm trying to imagine what the performance looks like and how you chuck it all together. i get the feeling you aren't just cobbling bits together on the laptop, doesn't seem like your style, so you're literally putting all of that sound together on the spot while the drone box plugs away on the side.

it could trip cunts out that's for sure. i like to picture somebody chilling on a cliche hippie furniture, innocently lulled in by the soft intro having adjusted the volume before sitting down and drifting off..... drifting back in halfway through with his skull resonating

(i actually typed that about silver cord live before opening the improv and seeing its title "docile ambient takeover")

hey, this other track seems innocent enough. i might leave it go while i chill on a beanbag.

thanks TI. yeah no laptop used here, mostly tweaking synths n fx pedals, a loop pedal, some other noise makers and an old sampler. some sequences were pre-conceived, some i made up on the spot.
