Help needed identifying two plants.

Question

Hey everyone,

I have accumulated this beauty the other day off my granddads mate. I have no clue where to even start with this one. It is probably around 1.5-2meters tall if that helps. Also when the branches are snapped off a white sap comes out.

Any help would be superb!

-Caitin :)

EDIT: sorry the title is mis-leading, only the one plant! I could not get the other photo to upload.

Me as well.

That aside if it is bleeding white sap my first thought is some sort of Euphorbia.

These may help with an Id.

ahh bugger guys. Anyone know how to solve the issue?

It is tall, almost like a tree. Hard to explain with out the photo.

It doesn't appear to look anything like the euphorbias in that website.

It looks like a euphorbia to me. The white sap is a good sign that it is too. Have you ever seen it flower?

Euphorbia grandidens is my best guess.

no I have never seen it in flower. Although as you can see by the photo it hasn't been payed good attention to, it barely had soil.

do you know how to cultivate it? cuttings or seeds?

It looks incredibly close to the suggestion of Euphorbia Grandidens, the trunk and the "leaves" are spot on, the only thing that doesn't make me certain is that the leaves do not have spines, at least no way near as prolific as in the example photos.

I would agree with you but as far as I know selenicereus doesn't have white sap.

Thanks for your help guys! I have at least narrowed down what this plant is, I am pretty happy with the ID of Euphorbia Grandidens. :)
