zed240 Posted June 23, 2014 They're still out there over here in SA. Pretty abundantly although I reckon in about 1 or 2 weeks it'll hit absolute peak of the season here and then we'll see some mega patches again. Here are just a few shots I took with my phone from Saturday. Got quite a few, heaps of pins to leave behind too! And here are some more from the place that always has really short stemmed subs. The knife is for size reference. HEAPS of porcini about here too at the mo! I assume they won't be around too much longer though.

zed240 Posted July 8, 2014 Here are some subs from Saturday just gone. These ones look quite similar to the suburban subs from Melbourne I've seen pictures of. Found this single, tiny one in a place I've never found subs before. So that's nice, although it was quite a large walk and I've been there a few other times. I'm thinking it may fruit more later this year when it's wetter. No creeks there. I've got more pics of subs from Sunday that I'll probably upload soon too.
abin Posted July 8, 2014 ^ not subs in my opinion. : ) Yeah no surprise - not having luck in this region at present. Chalk it up to experience - will still watch them develop.

abin Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) Gallerina Marginata mate, death by fungus - dont touch those guys....Thx mate - I've heard of these Gallerinas and would do nothing without positive ids and spore prints. To the trained eye I am curious to know however, what's the telltale difference from the photo in this instance? I 'm thinking the presence of the ring on the stipe. Amazonian Posted July 16, 2014 I am curious to know however, what's the telltale difference from the photo in this instance? I 'm thinking the presence of the ring on the stipe. Yeah, that ring is like the robot from lost in space and says.."warning warning" ,lol. But yeah, i went by the ring, subs don't look like that.
abin Posted July 16, 2014 Yeah, that ring is like the robot from lost in space and says.."warning warning" ,lol. But yeah, i went by the ring, subs don't look like that. Cool - will keep on keeping on. Really enjoying this new-found hobby , only wish is that I had more time to do it and only regret is that I didn't do it years ago. However, come summer I'll be hitting paddocks so there is that to look forward to as well
