Have a mad idea...interested in constructing a tyvek item....

As its plastic anyone know of the best bonding method?

EDIT - I go through a few Tyvek overalls and at times the material is recyclable <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_newimprovedwinkonclear.gif

The item is along the lines of a backpack

OK google puts me onto a few leads, but interested if anyone has worked with it

Sweet HB,

I was leaning towards sewing it up and putting tyvek tape over joins (used for repairing book spines <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_newimprovedwinkonclear.gif ) to ensure a waterproof seal. Bit like what they do with gortex gear.

Can't avoid ambient humidity, but want to keep rain from penetrating.

My sewing skills are not mad...lol

There are two main types of plastic;

Thermo-plastics; these can be heated and reshaped and Tyvek would fall into this catagory. Heating an element and pressing the parts together might work..
