.. and I'll vouch for incognito's post.

I ordered 1 Bridgesii and 1 T Peru, package arrived yesterday and inside was the thickest Bridgesii I've ever laid eyes on, this guy looks close to 4" thick. The T Peruvianus is an absolute beaut and has awesome red/brown spines

I was mesmerised, It wasn't until about half hour later as I went to throw the box out I realised it was still weighty.. I'm like WTF? The box was full of those small foam thingos to stop things rolling around, so I hadn't noticed Merkaba had thrown in another two cacti!!!

I pulled out another Bridgesii, along with this thick-as-fuck mature Pachanoi, and absolute monster. Thank you Merkaba, from an extremely happy new SAB member :worship:

I do have one question though, can you please help me identify which way is up on these specimens?

^^ vascular ring is usually the give away, that is the ring is generally smaller towards the top...

If you look in between the ribs there should be v-like formations in the blueing, right way up should make regular V's. I am having a hard time with words at the moment so if that description doesn't mean anything I'll give it another shot in a bit.

The bridgesii in your first picture is upside down in that picture. a bit harder to tell on the peruvianus from that picture but in your 3rd picture of the closeup I'd say the left side of the picture is up.

edit: db has a good one with the vascular rings too, that's even easier :D
