Very nice HH !!! Those are very pampered seedlings!!! Some of the best I'm sure : )

I'm not so meticulous - esp. with my outdoor cacti growing. All of these are 15 months - entirely outdoor grown!.

The past summer was a little hard on them but most survived and now they are thriving - can't wait for

them to put on some size this year!

These are Zelly's "Juuls-x-Kimnach"

Below are Zelly's "Huanucoensis-x-Z1" (bridgesii)

These are a few of Zelly's (SS02xSS01) x (SS02xSS01) F2 hybrid cacti - outdoor grown in Phoenix at about 15 months.

They are going to take off and really start growing in a month or so when the weather warms up a bit!

*** I had great luck with all of Zelly's seeds - excellent germination and the seedlings are robust growers ***

These seedlings were over-wintered outside ( in their tubs in case of frost ). As it turned out, we had a very mild winter with only one slight frost where these are located.

I will start transplanting them this weekend - the weather today will be over 87 F

- the larger one's 3 - 4" will go straight into 1 gal pots while the smaller one's will go into pots as "clumps" of 4 - 6 seedlings to grow a bit.

Those Validus X Bridgesii are awesome!!

As soon as I saw that picture I went and looked through my seed stash and found 2 packs of Validus x Lumberjack! (Score! didn't have to buy em on the bay ;)) kinda forgot I had ordered these. I also apparently bought seeds I already had some of, go figure, so I'll have lots of huano x (SS02xSS01) seedlings Going to sow out all the seeds I have gotten as soon as I can make room for the pots inside. Everything is still inside but I think it's finally consistently warm enough to move the collection outdoors again.

I've got alot more of Zelly's seeds going now and about to sew a few more bowls

indoors, but heres some of the seedlings and grafts sewn/grafted 2012-2013

all these are from Zelly's seed except the spachianus at the bottom left hand corner

several other bowls are going as well just thought i'd show off the older ones...

back right and back left are Peruvianus x Kimnach and Lumberjack x Juuls

the two most recently sewn in the red bowls each have ss02xss01 f2's and

Juuls x Lumberjack ... I mistakenly poured the seeds into the same bowl lol...

the two clear bowls are the oldest but also smallest .. they'll be transplanted soon...

The largest ones are in a coir based mix (x sand) which also had slow release

fertilizer... I think its a combo of coir and ferts that made for faster growing plants

The clear bowls are Validus x Lumberjack and PC Pach x ss02/ss01 which were

sewn in December 2012... that was a peat based mix.. I maybe could have

fertilized them more but they were my first babies so I was fraid at first... im not

so fraid anymore these are some resilient plants... the larger ones were sewn in

february 2013 I think and the red bowls in July I guess (going off the top of my head)

This tray has Peruvianus x Kimnach (5 largest ones on the left hand side)

and Lumberjack x Juuls, plus a close up of the spiniest LJxJG

A couple of Validus X Lumberjack grafts in the same pot... the bigger one has

alot of roots and popped out one larger spine before going dormant last year...

The other two pics are PC Pach X ss02/ss01... and some smaller PCxSS grafts

sunlight! I won't do fluoros past 4 or 5 months as seedlings and only that long cause the winter

and um, space requirements maybe you see the flash from the camera eh lol

they're in sort of a coldroom/sunroom, a.k.a. an add-on without an a/c vent and a huge window,

but they spend most of the year in a hoophouse ... it used to be a hoophouse... now its just h00ps eh

Here's some of Zelly's crosses which were germinated and have spent their entire life in window sunlight (Since July 2013)

they just got moved to where they will get some direct light and appear to have come out of dormancy (they weren't watered for several weeks during cold nights by a cold window) they're in the 3 orange/red bowls.. they rec'd some

light ferts plus some direct window light and have definitely perked up :)

some neat things happening with these more recent sews

A double headed Lumberjack x Juuls Giant (sewn 11-11-13)

post-11432-0-84146900-1393183156_thumb.j

and two possibly variegated Validus x Lumberjack (sewn Halloween 2013)

the neat thing about these variegates is they've been on their own roots for 3 to 4 months...

I'm not sure how quickly they sprouted eh

Im pretty sure i have a mutant pc pach x (ss02 x ss01)

Looking forward to seeing it grow, this would be my first one if so but still so small

2014-03-09 10.04.45.jpg

When they're that small sometimes they do weird stuff even when they're non-mutated. That would be cool if it is though. Keep us updated.

Validus x Op.

about half of these seedlings were very lightly colored. This is the best of those grafted, it's a very lime green color
