The grafted one is extremly green. Could be a Psyho0 x Sharxx but thats suspicion. Third pic: Lumberjack x VRG grafted on peres I found the label still attached to the grafting stock beneath the earth. Its a Psyho0 x Lumberjack. For that cross the spines are extremly short. Has anybody pics of that cross to compare? Thanks in advance.
Inyan Posted September 24, 2017 @Pedro Sadly, I don't have that specific cross. Lumberjack definitely has some interesting genetics. I will have to try to placate you with an update of a few of my Zelly grafts as they appear on Saturday the 23rd of September 2017. I have to admit, not a day goes by that I am not looking at my seedlings trying to figure out which ones look promising and need to be plucked out for potential grafting. Yet another reason why I sometimes graft two seedlings together inside one Pereskiopsis or place several seedlings on a single Pereskiopsis... I simply have a hard time choosing which hybrids of Zelly's should be grafted. If I had the grafting material I think I would graft each and every seedling I have of his to speed them up just so I could see them flower. Without further ado.
Pedropark Posted September 24, 2017 Inyan, I love your grafts, never tried your method. Will give it a try. I also graft only a few like 20 a year. Love to see how the grafting stock pushes the plants. I prefer pach if available, for me the bring better results then peres. This morning i checked the label and saw that the Psyho0 x Lumberjack is from nitrogen.
Inyan Posted September 24, 2017 14 hours ago, Pedropark said: Inyan, I love your grafts, never tried your method. Will give it a try. The above grafts as well as this triple graft of Zelly's seedlings were all done on unrooted Pereskiopsis. With that being said, I find it much easier to graft on rooted specimens. I like grafting to Pereskiopsis and or T. pachanoi when working with cacti grafts. Trust me when I tell you that this method of grafting is super easy. It is so easy in fact that all of my children learned how to graft like this with their cacti seedlings when they were still in their first year of school. From there they moved on to grafting trees. @Pedro you have an ample supply of T. pachanoi and I suspect that is why you are most comfortable grafting with it. I taught my children to graft by having them graft a few specimens each day. In this manner, they can see what they did wrong or what went wrong one step at a time and correct. Memory is not perfect and if you allow too much time to elapse between grafts when you are inexperienced sometimes you forget little things that help such as how much pressure to apply etc. I get the same way when I have not made a graft in a good while. I forget some portions of my techniques as it is no longer second nature. Practice, practice, and watch.
MeanGreen Posted September 28, 2017 PedroPark gifted this awesome Oscar x Helen mutant to me yesterday! I'm so very grateful, thanks brother. This is easily one of my favorite mutants I have so far.

Pedropark Posted October 11, 2017 (edited) Also send this grafted seedlings Tpm x Scop to a friend. They are 8 month old. This year we had much rain and less sunshine here in germany, where they grew. They are little bit wet, from the rain. Now the will go to a friend in spain. Inyan Posted October 12, 2017 Zelly seedlings update This is one of my favorites. However, these two might be close runners up if they were not so darn similar. A few more variegates have yet to take off due to the green house incident. I'm just amazed that at least one more variegate after being tossed clear across the green house is still going to grow or at least it appears to want to grow. Time will tell. I have several more flats of grafts completed from Zelly's seeds as well. I decided to put a short halt to my grafting however when I noticed these variegated specimens...A few hundred Zelly grafts to go yet so there is still much fun to be had.

I'm somewhat in a coastal / moderate region; a friend in a high desert area posted pics of the red grandi i gifted them with flowers splayed wide open. All my other grandi's flower wide open, the cherry red ones never do fully open.

I Sadly do not have that cross but I have noticed with all of my LJ crosses that the areoles seem to protrude pointing upwards with those fan shaped spines. If you hadn't said anything about it being a LJ cross I would have placed a guess on it being the father
spacegrandmother101 Posted October 15, 2017 The LJ males still have the same upward pointing areoles but they're not as well defined as the LJ Mother crosses. I'll see if I have a pic of any to post up for you.

Inyan Posted October 17, 2017 Okay, brand new baby here. Her thin veil should be ready to come off in a week or two. Trichocereus bridgesii (Helen x Bertha) Looks like we have a new variegated specimen although the chlorophyl is very minimal.
Pedropark Posted October 17, 2017 Helen x Bertha shows a lot of albinos. Will post some pics of the new seedlings tomorrow.

Where is the master list so I can tell if what I am getting is different or not different? That is what I need. Who has the list of what each variety tosses out?

Inyan Posted October 19, 2017 @Pedropark I figured someone must have compiled a master list of what to expect out of some of these crosses?

Pedropark Posted October 19, 2017 In one month i will make fotos of all the 2015/2016 crosses. I ll choose one plant per cross and then i ll create a website to collect all the pics and informations. So i will do every year following. Hope this will help in the future to get a base where people can see the characteristics of the hybrids and see how the mature.

Admittedly, I don't know anything about creating a website either. With that being said, could it also be possible for other members to submit pictures of any noteworthy crosses that could then be reviewed to ensure those crosses went to the right area/cross? If possible, and I may be just dreaming here... could the website possibly have the ability to search by keywords like crested, variegated, etc. allowing you to cross reference easily those crosses that have yielded high numbers of variegaetes, crested, etc? This may be more than your thinking about doing and I certainly don't want to overwhelm you with idea's, but you've got a fellow truly amazed by your willingness to take on such a monumental task and here I am trying to toss more ideas on top of that. Still, better to be heard and tossed away as too difficult or absurd rather than to not be heard and wished something simple had of been implemented earlier. Thank you for the work you have already shared. It is truly appreciated. Here is one site's searchable data base for flowers... if it might help. http://www.daylilies.org/DaylilyDB/?advanced
