The EGA plant meet will be at an alternate location. we are yet to disclose it due to having to get confirmation and because our priority has been organising the film screening on the day before.

Im not sure what these other dates are but the EGA plant meet is on the 6th.

the 11th was a suggestion for the 11th of november that no-one seem to took up.

:'( Whyyyyy did my flight back to Melbourne have to be on the 6th! Arghhh!

I still haven't been able to attend a Melbourne meet due to doing other stuff.

I'd like to meet a friendly fungi grower in Melbourne! Could you message me privately if you're free? I'm on uni holidays at the moment so my schedule is fairly flexible but I'm about to start a research project soon at uni and that's gonna change quite a bit, so sooner is better for me. By the way, I hope this is kosher by the forum rules and if not, happy to change as suggested. Thanks

Thanks for your interest! I never really have much to say here and just lurk so it's nice to have some interaction

Officially it starts on the 2nd March at Melbourne uni.

But, I'm doing a subject that starts on the 9th February

Speaking of Melbourne uni, we have a nice garden full of systematically organised plants near out botany building! Sorry about the photo, I didn't take it I only saw it after googling for photos. Too bad they took the photo of the gazebo and not the actual plants, and at a grassy less interesting place. There's a nice few cacti around that might interest some here (don't steal them! someone did a little while back! they're for education and treated with human harmful insecticides anyway).

If at some point we want to meet there I think that would be royally nice! Everyone is welcome, not just staff and students. And, in any case I'm both and can stand up for us. And, well, it so happens that because it's technically Commonwealth land, vicpolice aren't allowed to access the site without expressed permission that takes some administration for them to organise. I heard a rumour that during some protests by socialists at the uni in the past that they knew of in advance they went overkill and the AFP just came down rather than working out something with the AFP and they had mounted (or was it riot? I can't remember) police around.
