iatd Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Hey everyone. First post, just wanted to say hey and share a few mushroom picks I have taken lately. I found some what I believe to be P. Cubensis that I found while working one day. I also found these while working. I thought they might be P. Semilanceata, but its just a guess. I have never come across them before. I came across some Slippery Jacks on our drive from Nimbin to Mullumbimby and another I can't identify. And another while working. No idea with this one. I like how the little one is seeking shelter though. I hope you enjoyed the photo's. There will be plenty more this summer for sure. iatd Edited September 5, 2014 by iatd

☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted November 29, 2014 I saw these brown mushrooms at the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve in the ACT last Saturday. There were packs of kangaroos everywhere and the view was spectacular. Great place to visit if you enjoy hiking and being near wild animals. Anyone know what these are? UPDATE: Sorry for the missing pics. I will update them when I find a better picture service for uploading them. shape suggests pleurotis genus to me
Berengar Posted November 30, 2014 Pleurotus?? As in oyster mushrooms?? I'd guess those are either Tubaria or Laccaria.
mutant Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) not pleurotus i would say went today but forgot the camera at my friends car so no pics today took some great shots, love the woods, felt alive again. lots of edibles gathered plus first P.serbica flush of the year it was awkward, because I know these woods mushroom-wise best than anyone I know, but I still could not lean and go down and pick all the time, and these are not the most straight forward woods, and ofcourse we avoidedmost steep spots, so I was walking and spotting mushrooms and telling the rest of the guys "there are a couple down here" and "check out this one too, its either a cantharellus or a hydum" and so on, and they picked them. But now and then I would lie down and pick some myself, including the Psilos I cut with a scissors what a thrill it is picking mushrooms, still is 9-10 years from when I started . photos to come Edited November 30, 2014 by mutant
☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) no , I do apologise, I meant pluteus and i think its on roots/wood that is not in view, bit out of practice I guess now , sorry.. i used to often describe pluteus as "wearing a beret". - it was the split in it that really made me blurt pleurotis without thinking ... pl came to mind and damn mother nature's auto correct i guess lol- pleurotis being the more walked thought path n all- i shouldve known better lol, thank you tangich, can see you're on the mark and mutant ... on a side note sadly this has also happened when tryna access my memory for aquatic taxon , mainly tetras and a few catfish too for now... perhaps signs of age lol - and also with many trees mmm more filed winds :3 and some wild finds from the supermarket ;) hey mutant why not take a bit of plastic with ya if u have to lay dwn to umm what's the word?.... but yeah even a black bin liner would save ya gettn the bits off the forest floor stuck to your clothing cuz if i recall it right, just havn to brush them off can set my back wrong sometimes for the rest of the trip and kinda undo some healing ... as if havn to get back up wasn bad enough anyway on the back... oh yeah plus its easily rollable/scew-it-up-able for a pocket -however it is lovely to be in direct contact with the earth - but then again I've seen the size of some of the ants over there and eeeek! they look mean! also, lol. ya never know , you might find enough delicious gourmet to fill it at some point Edited December 5, 2014 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
∂an Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) These mushrooms are popping up here in NSW at the moment. Pretty sure they are a panaeolus of some variety, possibly Panaeolus papilionaceus? It isn't obvious in the photo but there are veil remnants on the cap margin. They seem to like similar habitat as cubensis and meanies (i.e. cow dung in hot and humid grass lands), but fruit more readily and are more resilient to wind - they can be found in quite exposed areas such as hill tops with short grass. Back in QLD I often noted that in the paddocks this species grew, the actives did not. Edited December 7, 2014 by ∂an
∂an Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) also found one cluster of actives (panaeolus cyanescens?) amongst the hundreds of the above mushrooms. Edited December 7, 2014 by ∂an

mutant Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) Panaeolus papilionaceus and vars (there are lots synonyms) is quite big mushroom, relatively I owe some photos Psilocybe serbica Craterellus cornucopiodes Craterellus, Hydnum rufescens and Lactarius salmonicolor Lactarius salmonicolor + Cantharellus cibarius Whole lot of last time (note we dont normally pick Lactarius) went again today, a couple fellow mushroom friends I hadn't seen for years came too from another town, and it was a pretty coolday, with lots of mushrooms , again.. in absence of some real cold, the Psilocybe patch hadn't thrown a second flush, which I expected it would since last time.
