Never heard of this species. Any info on it? Any other species in the Tabernanthe genus? I'd always thought iboga was the only species. I'm really interested in hearing about other species (and obtaining plants if possible).

Tabernanthe is a monotypic genus. This is either a variety of Tabernanthe iboga, or more likely Tabernaemontana ventricosa.

OK confused

The label at Mt Coot-tha says tabernanthe

im sure of it as i looked twice to confirm

however in the listing of plants in the gardens from 1998 it says tabernaemontana

either way

it has a striking resemblance to iboga in the leaf and flower

There is quite a large shrub there that Gomaos and I found. Maybe you could sponsor him to get you some. Its also flowering now and there are seedlings underneath so...

the leaves are nearly dry

will report soon

Yeah, backpacks are essential. So are sharp secateurs, scalpels, baggies, rubber gloves and sterilising wipes. Pity is, that the more responsible you get about stealing stuff (?!?), the more likely you get busted.

yes, I would love some seed. Never mind cuttings. I prefer to just get seed if it is available. No need to damage the plant.

Went there on saturday.

Since I wasn't by myself, I couldn't really concentrate on searching and consequently did not find either tabernanthe ventricosa OR anandanthera (spelling i know).

Mesqualero, give me a hand and let's go together....
